Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, today announced its latest title in the Lara Croft series, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The game will launch on the Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and the first-ever four-player co-op experience with Lara Croft. Featuring stunning visuals and a brand-new story, players must work together to explore the temple, defeat hordes of enemies from the Egyptian underworld, solve devious puzzles, and avoid deadly traps. All the while, players will compete for treasure, powerful artifacts, and ultimate bragging rights.

“After the immensely positive reception we received for our debut co-op adventure Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, we always hoped that we would find the time for Lara to return in another classic AAA digital arcade title,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Studios. “We are excited to expand upon Guardian of Light’s legacy with an entirely new adventure, and challenged ourselves to create fun new ways to play. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris takes place deep in the deserts of Egypt. In her new adventure, Lara must join forces with rival treasure hunter Carter Bell and imprisoned gods Horus and Isis, to defeat the evil god Set. As Lara and her companions fight the elements of nature across the sands and through ancient tombs, they will battle legendary deities and creatures of myth. With the fate of the world at stake, Lara must recover the fragments of Osiris to stop Set from enslaving all mankind.

Huge fan of the first game. Very fun to get the platinum on it. Only thing that sucks is I dont have 2 more people in my life to do a 4 person coop lol. Going to have to invite 2 randoms over psn to get those hard to reach relics.

Gold Edition, Retailer DLC, & Season Pass announced

Square Enix will release a ‘Gold Edition’ of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris at participating retailers, the company announced.

The Gold Edition includes:

• A 3″ Lara figurine
• Art book filled with never-before-seen concept art
• Folding map of the Overworld
• Season Pass – Includes all future downloadable content (except pre-order packs) including the Icy Death and Twisted Gears Packs. The upcoming DLC Packs offer 6 additional costumes and will challenge Lara, Carter, Horus and Isis to conquer additional tombs and collect a treasure trove of unique rings, amulets and weapons.

Additionally, multiple retailer exclusive pre-order packs featuring different skins and character-based skills are also available:

This is an adventure-platformer in which players help Lara Croft and her allies recover ancient artifacts in an underground temple. From a 3/4 overhead perspective, players traverse environments and use pistols, machine guns, shotguns, and magical relics to defeat fantastical creatures (e.g., giant scarabs, skeletal warriors, crocodile creatures) in frenetic combat. Battles are accompanied by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and cries of pain. Some creatures break apart into pieces and/or emit splashes of colorful liquid when defeated; one sequence depicts blood stains on a book. The word “bastard” can be heard in the game.
