XP Picture

So my work still has some XP computers. (I know, I know).

And one of them has started doing this:



Where it pops up the screens like you can do in Windows 7. If it's 3 boxes, it pops 3, 4 = 4, etc.

Anyone know what's going on? I haven't seen XP ever do this before.

What do you mean? This is far too vague. Do you mean like a mac's expose/mission control? Or windows-key+tab style window flipping? Win7/8's drag-to-side window snapping? Is it that huge border around the background window? Is it the little tool-tip pop up?

Probably some random application you've installed is doing this.

If I'm interpreting properly, I think they mean that it's opening a new window instead of opening it in the one open.
There should be a option to allow that to happen or not.

I don't have an xp machine to check though.

Sorry I didn't provide more info. Let me offer a better explanation:

For some reason this machine was showing every open window on the screen at once. So that screenshot was a time I hit "print screen" when it happened. So I would be moving the mouse around and randomly the screen would split and there would be every open box up on the screen. In this case, it was only 2: the control panel and the add/remove box. However, it didn't matter how many boxes was open, it could be 7: those two, a browser, word, etc. and it would show all 7 on the screen at once until you would click on one. Once you clicked on one, it would come to the forefront and the rest would go back to the taskbar.

What I eventually determined (the problem is resolved) is that the custom mouse that had been installed and the driver had an option for the scroll wheel to do that, you click the wheel down and windows would open every window on the screen. However, in my case the scroll wheel was damaged and the screen would change on it's own every 3-5 seconds. By disabling the scroll wheel in the mouse configuration, it would stop.

Super annoying to figure out.

Heh, an expose/mission control feature provided by the fucking mouse drivers? And on the wheel click?! That'd drive me nuts lol.
