Good episode again, but something is really going on here.

The Vers empire was founded in 1972, and Aldnoah.Zero takes place in 2014. The emperor is like 70+ years old. He's from Earth, no doubt about it.

One of the Orbital Knights claimed to be there in the war 15 years ago, so he's probably from Earth too. If he's not, he was born very early on.

What the hell happened to these guys? Brainwashing like whoa. How can you go on a tirade about wiping out an inferior race when you were born there?

There's a quote in this episode "It is regrettable that we share common ancestry with inferior filth such as Terrans." Yeah dumbass, one generation. Your dad was from there. The fuck.

Uhhh I dont think they explain in detail but They are from Mars, they've been there for a long, long time... They have common ancestry because they came from Earth because of reasons, a long time ago

Drop for what reason? All that exposition I posted up there could easily be explained. It's just pointing out stuff that's probably going to be part of the plot later.

It's been the most consistently high quality show so far this season.

None of the characters are interesting at all, the space MC and the earth MC are both dull dull dull.
Whatever the combination of mech/weakmusicalscore/dullcharacters is just doesn't do anything for me.
It's at the point where watching an ep is getting to be a chore, which is usually when I give em 1-2 more eps to see if theres anything salvageable.

It's had like 5minutes of good battle sequences in a few eps, but absolutely nothing else about the show has been enjoyable so far.

It just comes across to me ( important note here, since taste is subjective and you asked - I didn't come here shitting on it ), as generic bilge, with decent animation quality. I guess if you have a raging hard on for mech you might find it interesting, otherwise I'm peacing out after next weeks ep unless things improve.
