It doesn't really matter for him since he hasn't really done enough to get an actual sponsor, so being stuck on a 'team' instead isn't really affecting anything; but guys like Dieminion/M2K/Armada/Yipes could be with an actual sponsor that pays travel rather than just a group of guys who give you letters to stick in front of your name.
