XIV at Gamescom 2014 (August 13-17)

Square Enix has confirmed its title lineup for Gamescom today, detailing a handful of titles we already know about as well as one new addition previously unannounced.

Rounding out their HD console and PC games, the company plans on bringing over Final Fantasy XIV (PC, PS3, PS4), Nosgoth (PC), Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (PC, PS4, XB1), and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX (PS3). Several mobile and handheld titles will also be on display including Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call (3DS) as well as Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest VIII for mobile platforms.

Additionally, on August 16th both Final Fantasy XIV Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida and Theatrhythm Producer Ichiro Hazama will be taking up the stylus once again for a “final battle” of sorts as they fight it out once again using Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call’s Versus Mode. The competition will be live streamed starting from 1500 CET. Final Fantasy XIV’s own Battle Challenge will also be available for attendees and will feature Ramuh, Leviathan, Gilgamesh, and Frontlines PvP.

Meet & Greet details

Hello everyone!

We recently trialed a new event in Germany, the Fan Gathering. The first one was in Hamburg, and we've had loads of fun talking with fans about the game and getting their friends signed up.

Now, we're continuing the series in Cologne! There's hardly a better reason than one of the world's largest gaming conventions to get the fans together for a little party, and that's exactly what we're planning to do.

Me, Sasunaich, all the community ambassadors and many more will be at the Gathering, so don't miss it!

Bring your friends!

If you bring someone who doesn't yet play FFXIV, we'll get them up and running with a retail version of the game!

When and where will the Gathering take place?

On Thursday evening (August 14th) after the convention closes. The location is easy to reach from the convention. You'll learn everything else from the confirmation mail!

WANT! GIEV! What do I have to do to attend?

That's really easy. Just send us an application with the subject "Gathering Cologne - I want to be there!" to [email protected], containing the following information:

• Name
• Surname
• Date of Birth
• Character name
• World
• Free Company
• Forum Name

And, if you bring someone:

• Name of the friend
• Email-Address of the friend

Deadline for applications is Sunday, 10th of August 2014, 23:59 MEZ (2:59pm PST)

Please note: All participants need to be aged 18 or older. Please bring a form of identification, as admission will take place by name.

FAQ

Why is the Gathering 18+ only?

There will be alcoholic beverages, and it will probably become rather late.

How do I know if I'm in?

We will send out confirmation mails between Monday and Tuesday (German time). Please note that, due to the enormous workload during gamescom, we won't be able to send out refusals. Sorry!

What happens if more people sign up than there are available slots?

In that case we'll choose participants at random, but it's not likely that this will happen.

When and where will the event take place?

On the evening of the 14th of August at a location that is easy to reach using the regional train, as well as the tram lines S12 and S13, not too far from the convention area!

Will there be a program?

Only a very casual one. These Gatherings are meant to bring fans together and friends into the game - and to have fun!

Will there be food and drinks?

Yessire!

Are you trying to sell us anything?!?

Plastic food containers and make up sets. No, of course not! We do not force anyone who attends to subscribe or buy anything.

Actually, I'm working for them at the GC. This year they picked around 40 ppl from the community and let them work at the booths instead of promoters. Has quiet a few advantages. In opposite to some other exhibitors they have ppl who actually know what they're talking about. Pics inc on monday.
