Fed mine like it says to go from kobold brown to black, but it turned grape purple instead.

That chart looks like a lot of nothing. I had royal blue and fed it one message of apples and got regal purple when it says the opposite color should of produced that result

Just checked my bird. Blood red!

So far his feedings went as follows..

1st feeding: 11x Xelphatol Apples ~ 11x messages > Pumpkin Orange chocobo

2nd feeding: Mamook Pear x10, O'Ghomoro Berry x15 ~ all message feedings > Lilac Purple chocobo (Was aiming for Cactuar green, but this is what I got)

3rd feeding: 10x Xelphatol Apples ~ 10x messages > Blood Red chocobo



Excuse the poor lighting. I'll be keeping this color for a while since it goes so well with his Sleipnir Barding.

I'm sure your experience will differ greatly if you start from a normal yellow bird and follow the chart, and not from a different color like I did.

From desert yellow I went 2 domam plums with message, 1 valfruit with message = sylph green. 1 Domam Plum 1 valfruit with message = Snow white. Fed another plum and fruit, trying for Iris purple or Lotus pink.

Edit: got colibri pink.

Stuck in a loop of shit which makes no sense. I somehow went from Russet Brown (72 Red) to Rolanberry Red (84 Red) by feeding an apple. Last I checked 84 is not darker than 72. Caught in an infinite loop in which everything I do brings me back to Rolanberry Red. Trying to get to Soot Black but I can't seem to get to Grape Purple by using Pears like the chart floating around shows. It brings me to Regal Purple or Russet Brown so far. Just went through 2 feather color changes with pears to see if I can break the cycle but I'm completely lost at this point.

I had the same thing happen to me with cactuar/apple green. Best bet is to get 1 color away and do something that doesnt make sense, worked for me! lol

Yeah I'm having a similar issue. The chart has been pretty accurate doing 1 feed per 6 hours of one fruit up until the colibri pink/ice blue loop. I keep going back and fourth, completely skipping Iris purple. Fed it a pear from colibri so will likely be ice blue again. Thinking about tossing a berry in there to see if it'll give it the purple hue? =/

I've been in a kobold brown/ink blue loop for a couple of days now. I've literally used every fruit from both colors to try to get to black and it's just taking me in circles.

Why don't you try feeding it multiples of all 3 of the darkening colors berries at the same time then for black?? It stands to reason that black will be made once you darken all colors enough.
White, after all, is gotten through feeding it all 3 kinds of lightening berries.

And from ice blue to some kind of purple? why not try an o'g berry and an apple at once and see what you get? purple is blue and red mix so...

I've been going by the chart. Iris purple is actually more of a pink. But I go from ice blue to colibri pink via one valfruit every time. So yeah none of this is logical since ice blue and pink have no correlation.

Got the Iris Purple finally. My last feed was a pear to take it from colibri pink back a step (following the chart). So in total it was:

Desert yellow -> Domam Plum x1 message -> Sylph Green -> Domam plum x1 message ->Snow White -> Domam plum x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Iris purple.

The fruit certainly have some kind of HQ properties (as in they can give either a normal amount of their color increase/decrease or in an HQ it can skip a color phase or multiple, from my testing). For reference it was 6 hours inbetween each feed. I stopped feeding the specific fruit once I got a feather message at each feed.

This isn't from me, but from some people on the OF (Yes I know its the OF, but they've actually gotten pretty good at this).

From ink blue, two pineapples to soot black.

I can't vouch for it on whether its accurate since the person who it was advised to never responded with whether or not they followed it and whether it worked, but I figured I'd spread the word just in case.

I'm trying to get to that path, I want Kobold Brown or Ink blue and I've been stuck on purple for a few days. dalamund > regal > plum > regal > ???? (will find out in 2hrs) Pears took me back to Plum, berries x10 did nothing, fruit x6 did nothing, got message after 2 pears.
