I'm such a girl; watched the videos on Kotaku of the people playing with their webcam in the upper right. After the bathroom scene:

Man i can't even finish what i think is the last room I get the Kid laughing twice, the Ghost that charges on me
Then nothing more
I have the same issue, I ran around for 6 hours trying to get that damned phone to ring. Then I gave up.
I got white, yellow, green and red flashlights. I got the radio saying strange things. Every piece of the picture. I tried dodging the ghost. I tried finding the ghost. I got strange messages popping up randomly in front of me (like when you find the picture pieces). I tried focusing on every single detail in there. Nothing. Most I've heard is the child laughing once.
I cant even get all the pictures lol
The only thing i actually know 100% of the time is how to trigger the midnight and then even the ghost sometimes doesnt appear or it appears at a different spot
Pretty cool potential. I hope they come up with new and innovative stuff instead of just repeating what's been done.
Kojima is aiming for “shit their pants” scaryhttp://www.vg247.com/2014/08/13/sile...eo-kojima-ps4/Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima discussed his Silent Hills project with Guillermo del Toro today during his Phantom Pain live stream from gamescom.
He said P.T stands for playable teaser, and that it is rather scary. He was pleasantly surprised the teaser was figured out so fast, as he was expecting it to take a week at least.
The video released yesterday was shown once more, and it’s really fun to see people get the shit scared out of them. It’s able to be downloaded on PS4 now.
Developed using the Fox Engine, the game will star actor Norman Reedus, known to many as Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead.
The team is aiming for a game which will scare people enough to make them “shit their pants”. Usually, if a game is too scary, people won’t play it, said Kojima.
There is a limit to making games scary, but they have decided to go all out – they don’t care if someone doesn't want to play it or not for being too scary. They are determined to make it as scary as possible.
I'm hoping for subtle scary rather than over the top scary.
SH3's mannequin and bathtub scenes take my top spot.
And that room in SH4 (I think, the one where it's basically one massive escort mission) where you zone in and it's a giant face I think staring at you, but harmless.
Honestly pt is not really scary exept for 2 moments
Hoping the real game is scarier
Depends on your definition of scary. For me I've always played the SH-series of games with 1 or 2 other good friends in the room, and we play in the dark together. The fun for us is getting scared then having a laugh about it and keep playing.
Playing alone getting scared doesn't appeal to us (and we're too pansy to do so). But the fun in getting scared together.
The joyous cheers we used to have everytime we come across the end of a corridor with a locked door! Yay no further exploring!
And the growns of frustration/anger/scared moment when the door is infact, not locked, and we got more of the dreaded place to explore...
For me getting scared is simple. Something that pops out of nowhere. And we didn't got enough in the PT
but it's only a pt so nothing to worry about for now
The Demo is one scariest shit. My wife laughed at me while watching me play...until she took the controller... she couldn't make it further than 5 or 7 minutes into the demo.
Spoiler: show
^
NOPE
I like that they're basically saying "fuck you" to pansies that don't want to play a game if it's too scary. I haven't found a game that actually scares me in a long time, so I for one am glad they're going all-out with this one. Hopefully they'll manage to make a game that actually scares me.
I want to be scared, is that too much to ask?! I played P.T in the dark, and I didn't get scared once I was disappointed with that.
Edit: Apparently it seems like a requirement to have the mic on in order to get the telephone to ring. That's stupid.
A lot of people are saying they ran around for hours trying to get the telephone to ring, but as soon as they turned their mic on, they got it within 15-20 min.
Things appearing out of no where is part of the scare, but I suppose the enticing thing about SH in general is the fucked-up-ness you can find within the game. When something you have absolutely no idea what the hell some of the shit they put in there is, or what in the hell is actually attacking you cause you can't see it properly or it's moving too awkwardly, or the camera decided to shaft you, it all comes together nicely.
As I can't see much right now, what's the main character this time around? Another teen girl? An ex-soldier? A truck/lorry driver? Hopefully it's not some underage kid...
Well, to be fair we don't know the character's background. For all we know it could be a girl who in her teen-years underwent a sex change, joined the military, and after having served her (his?) four years became a truck driver, and is now looking for her (his?) lost son.
Touche salesman.
My interpretation of the ending text:
Spoiler: show
Technically the game is called Silent Hills ^.~
Wonder if they're aiming for a reboot of the series?
