I think this game would drive me up a wall. I can't imagine playing this unless all three people are in the same room. Otherwise you'll have idiots that can't figure out what to do, like the green guy throwing bombs onto the floor in the center of the 4 spike wheels instead of into the wheels themselves.
Reggie Fils-Aime responds to the Metroid Prime: Federation Force criticismhttp://www.vg247.com/2015/07/01/regg...eration-force/“What the fan at home saw was something in the Metroid Prime universe that they weren’t expecting. The reaction has been negative. There’s no sugar coating it,” he said.
But Nintendo is pretty sure it knows best and doesn’t intend to back down. Fils-Aime said the company is refreshing its franchises – as opposed than pumping out clone sequels, presumably.
“We’re taking our great IP and transforming them and making them new again — making them fresh and appealing for the fan who feels they know the franchise,” he said.
“We believe that in order to propel the franchises forward, we have to be the ones to constantly challenge the paradigms, challenge the conventional wisdom, challenge what we thought was the essence of the particular franchise, and a particular form of gameplay.”

They couldn't come up with a new title so they borrow from a franchise that hasn't gotten enough love lately? Gtfo Reggie. Make a new IP or stick to what the IP has been about, don't go borrowing ideas and making a half baked game that nobody wanted.
It's a blatant cash grab by trying to use the Metroid name. Fuck outta here with this trying to reinvent the IP shit.
It's just filler till the next samus adventure
Federation Force 2: Return of Anthony
Reggie Fils-Aime: "This is a game that has been long coming for the Metroid franchise. Anthony was a fan favorite in the critically acclaimed 'Other M' title. It only makes sense to explore his relationship with Samus Aran and the other members of the Federation military before the events of the bottle ship. I think once people get a chance to play this title, it will become their favorite in the ongoing string of quality 'Metroid' titles."
Negative reaction to Metroid Prime: Federation Force was expected, Next Samus-starring Metroid is in development for NXhttp://www.vg247.com/2015/07/21/metr...-reaction-3ds/Speaking with Canadian Gaming Magazine (CGMag Online), Tanabe said he already had it in his mind fans would react in a negative way when they found out “Samus was not an actual player.”
What I see happening is once the players actually have hands-on experience with the game, they’ll be able to understand and experience for themselves how the game actually feels and that the Metroid Prime universe atmosphere is there,” he said.
“They’ll definitely understand the different perspective that we’re taking here and it’ll certainly make a difference once you get some experience with the game.”

Can't believe they're ok with letting metroid skip an entire generation.
You can't? They did the same thing with Star Fox last gen. The only franchises that I ever expect to seen per console is Mario and Zelda. Other than that Nintendo tends to let their IPs stagnate despite everyone constantly saying they never do anything else but make the same games.
Seems like they've fully embraced the fact the WiiU was a massive failure.
