^ If you think Minecraft doesn't still have an enormous audience, you're dead wrong.
How does one value Minecraft at the 2.5 billion dollar amount? This is the worst episode of Shark Tank ever.
Don't forget merchandising. I see mine craft toys and costumes everywhere nowadays.
It's not the best deal, but they'll make money on it within the decade.
Mojang has 3 revenue streams as far as I know:
- software sales
- server hosting
- merchandising
Right now that's worth $300 mil/year in revenue to Mojang.
I expect MS to expand on all three substantially, including making Minecraft 2 as monetizable as possible (think The Sims). 2.5 bil is quite high, but MS already has the built-in audience to create a proper franchise out of this IP.
lmao

Anyway, my price is two billion dollars. Give me two billion dollars, and I'll endorse your crap.

Dat inflation tho.
This is the same dude that said Facebook freaked him out right? What a fucking hypocrite.
I can think of $2b reasons he's able to come to grips with it.
Amen. You can fuck right off with the hypocrite shit. You show me 2 billion dollars and I'll smoke unfiltered camel cigarettes while drinking crude oil off of a baby pelican.

Minecraft YouTubers, you’re a great part of Minecraft’s success and we have no plans to change what you’re doing once we close the deal
Crossing my fingers they'll allow modding, but at the same time I see Microsoft getting rid of it and releasing DLC packs.
