Windows...10? Event Sept 30 San Francisco

So there's a new Windows version and it's not called 9 but 10!

Lame... they should've just gone with just "Windows", Win10, or maybe drop the windows name?

Some new features include:

- Universal Apps & Store
- Start Button (with RT app tiles added)
- Internet search results from Start button
- RT apps can run in window mode on desktop
- OSX Expose like multitasking feature
- Ctrl+V for paste added to command prompt (lol)
- Touch mode for tablets and touch enabled PCs
- Supports screen sizes 4 - 80 inches (Windows 10 new Windows Phone ver sans desktop mode)
- Developer friendly
- Best enterprise version (so they always say...)

MS is releasing a Preview program (similar to Windows Phone) for PCs and Servers.

Windows 10 to be released sometime mid next year (after April).

I don't get it. Windows 8.1 has a start menu and is quite fast.

A lot of people don't like the Windows 8 Start screen and lack of Start Button (like Windows 7). Just people set in their ways not accepting change. Personally I don't care for the start screen in 8 (I throw all my shortcuts there to have a clean desktop) and never used the start menu since I'm keyboard heavy user. Aside from that Windows 8 is great. A lot of people that use windows tho use mice.

The whole Win8 start screen and RT apps is very confusing to people. Also the charms bar is wtf. It's like they're using 2 versions of windows under one. A lot of people also don't use the new search which is helpful (Win Key+Q). For me it's the new Win Key+R.

It has ctrl+V for command line functions! That alone is worth a version upgrade.

I'm only being half sarcastic here, that's actually really nice and something that's bugged me for ages if I'm doing adb crap in Android.

Right lol but class I had way back when didn't have mice attached to PCs. Supposedly they were stolen. Eventually I brought my own.

I would assume it's the same story as when they jumped to 7 from Vista. Vista was perfectly fine (as is 8.1) after the first service pack, but initial launch got a bad rap so they want to move past it asap.

I think more important than ctrl+v for CMD is tab finishing. Or just do away with it and only have powershell. Either or.

Well, I mean for commands. You can tab finish directories.

The first thing you should always do with cmd is change the color settings to make it look all hacker-y. I made my text red so that everything goes faster. And of course the LEDs on my case are blue to make it cooler.
