Caps domination last night; was a great game to go to live. Place exploded on OV's second slot rocket. Latta with a nice fight too. That said, it was the ladyfriend's first hockey game ever; our conversation walking over from Rocket Bar went something like this:

L: What's that?
W: It's a list of the likely lines for the game
L: Lines?
W: Yeah, forwards play in groups of 3 typically; I'm not familiar with WSH's lower lines offhand
L: Forwards?
W: Offensive guys that try to score
L: Why don't the three best offensive guys just play the whole game?
W: Because they would die
L: What? Why?

*Game starts*

L: Why'd they stop?
W: Icing
L: What? Too icy?
W: Uh no, [explains icing]
L: Ok

*Later when the Caps are on a PP*

L: That's icing!
W: Uh no, there's no icing when you're down a man
L: What? Why?

By the end of the game, I think she had a pretty good idea of what was going on. She liked the fights and thought Holtby was cute (I agree). I think the Holtby shuffle may have been her favorite part of the entire game.

Well Kreider did run Halak 2 nights ago. Someones gonna get fed up and baseball slide into Lundqvist. How many goalies did Bure run? Federov? Kessel? Gartner?

In 132 NHL games played he's probably seriously run more goaltenders than those 4 did in their careers. And no, its not just "montreal fans being butthurt".
