X-Wing, Tie Fighter and Sam & Max coming to GOG.com

GOG has been teasing a new publisher coming tomorrow and some digging around the site has suggested it is going to be LucasArts.

Here's the list of games, leaked early:

Star Wars™: X-Wing Special Edition - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!
Star Wars™: TIE Fighter Special Edition - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!
Sam & Max Hit the Road - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!
The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition (already on Steam)
Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™ (already on Steam)
Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic (already on Steam)
afaik this is the first time the X-Wing games have been re-released and it's been a while since anybody's seen the original Sam & Max. One can only hope and pray that Full Throttle or Day of the Tentacle aren't far behind.

Full Throttle? I'm not putting my lips on that.

I pumped a ton of times into nearly all these games and would gladly pump more. I need my fix of S&M Gator Golf and Whack-A-Rat.

Got my flight stick and wallet sitting here ready to go.

Never played the Windows CD versions of X-Wing & TIE Fighter, so I'm curious to see what's changed between that and ye olde software-rendered MS-DOS floppy copy with chunky midi music goodness.

Engine differences is all I think. the old versions used iMuse for sound/music and the new versions backported the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter graphics engine to the game.

I would hold off on buying a new joystick until proper analog support is fully implemented. The original games only supported analog inputs on 2 axes, meaning mapping a right control stick or analog buttons to throttle control is something they'd have to code in themselves.

Been awhile since I even played XvT. Didn't its online functionality go through a third-party provider that no longer exists now? Would be a bit of work I'd figure to get around all that if so.

Granted if GoG ever did manage to release it, it'd have the expansion included which added a single player campaign to play.

Sounds good, I liked that engine even though it was still in the 2d-cockpit era of space dogfighters.

I used to play the original X-Wing with a mouse (TIE Fighter didn't support mouse for whatever reason). Lots of picking up and dragging were had prior to nabbing a joystick game in those times.

I hope they keep the old school copy protection system in place. Turn to page 4 in the instruction manual to get the code! Lost the book? You're fucked until the Internet is invented.

GOG either removes DRM entirely or provides PDF downloads of all printed materials for everything they sell.

Looks like the space sims have native controller support!

I still have S&M: Hit the Road with the original game box. It's the game that got me into point and click adventures. I am so going to get back on that.

GOG is going to have nearly all of the Star Wars games that were released to PC.

Any word on if the KotoR 2 release will be with the restored content? Or are they not allowed to do that for legal reasons?

Still flawed, you have to patch in the rest yourself.

They also added the Collector's Edition CD version of X-Wing & TIE Fighter to their respective releases, which completes those packages finally. I think outside of the edutainment goodies (Droid Works, Pit Droids, Gungan Frontier, etc), that's almost the entirety of the golden-era Star Wars games on GOG now?

Just leaves Episode 1 Racer which is the odd one out in the Episode 1-3 games that wasn't complete crap.
