Remains to be seen, but the fact that they are actually updating the game instead of taking our money and running is the biggest thing. They seem to be trying to do right.

Consensus seems to be that XIII-2 would runs smoother on PC than XIII anyhow.

Oh yeah! This better come with Yeul profile background and Yeul emoticons and Yeul trading cards. If so, I will buy 10 copies (maybe more).

FFXIII only got them for Lightning, Serah, and Vanille (which isn't bad but I wish they'd go all out and just do at least backgrounds for all characters). (I mean they already have wall papers + art for each character already.) I was hoping for a later release honestly (still haven't finished 100% FFXIII yet since I am also playing a bit of other games at the time too) and I wonder how the sales will do if XIII-2 has to compete with Steam Winter sales.

Edit - I hope the pre-rendered cutscenes are 1080p this time. There are like only two FMVs in XIII-2, so it shouldn't take up much space. Also about the FFXIII update, they said custom resolutions but didn't say anything about FMVs. Not sure if that means they'll update it to also add 1080p FMVs to FFXIII. Only things potentially keeping it from being completely better than the PS3 versions.

I assume you're taking about 13-2, because that isn't the case for 13. The issue with 13 is that it had a huge amount of prerendered cutscenes which totaled around 30GB. To support both languages, you had to download that 30GB twice. For some, an extra 30GB download and on disk is nothing, but for others it is a giant pain in the ass.

The problem is that you could make the extra language options free DLC, which would keep people from wasting space on something they wouldn't use. It was another problem on top of all the others people had complained about that showed how much SE cared.

For 13-2/3, this isn't an issue because they don't utilize as many prerendered cutscenes.

All that said, I'm glad they're adding resolution options to both games. It gives hope that their future PC ports (from this division) might reach the quality of the ports from other divisions and games that they publish.

LR had dual language on consoles too, it won't be a big issue with space like XIII was.
