Is anyone able to get on final fantasy? If so how do you fix this stupid error? Sorry for the stupid question.

It's hard to know when you don't say what error you're experiencing, but this is probably relevant:

Sorry for being very vague, after clicking on play On the play online viewer I get a popup that reads "Please wait while Windows configures final fantasy 11" And the bar does not move at all.
Okay. Go and confirm that your ffxi.dll has been deleted so that you know you're a victim of your antivirus program.
By doing check files for final fantasy 11?
By using file explorer and going to program files\POL\SE\FFXI
Thanks for the help, you can delete this thread I am just not good at computers and I forgot about that one it has been four years sense playing final fantasy. Totally forgot about antivirus thinking that was a virus
I got this same thing and I don't know how to fix it. I tried grabbing another FFXi.dll from another source but POL is still saying it's not installed. Should I just suck it up, uninstall everything and then reinstall? Will my personal settings be safe?
When i had this problem i was able to reinstall the file from the antivirus program i use on this pc.
I use McAfee, which is stupid and automatically deletes all "malware" it finds.
Well maybe you should not be using a stupid anti-virus?
I've used Avast for as long as I can remember. Dunno if I should feel good or unsafe that it didn't have this outcome that everyone else is having.
I've always found that the non commercial antivirus software is more gaming friendly. Norton, McAfee, etc seem to assume too much until you set exceptions. I wouldn't worry.
Eh, it doesn't matter any more. I bit the bullet and spent an hour uninstalling everything and re-installing everything, after spending 30 minutes backing up my entire POL directory. Once I had that ONE FILE (FFXi.dll) I just recopied everything back and it worked like a charm.
I sucks that I couldn't just do a check files in the POL viewer, since not having the FFXi.dll was enough to convince POL that it didn't exist.
If McAfee doesn't have a Virus vault or something that lets you restore removed files, then I'd definitely switch to something less stupid.
