Wait for Cooldowns during progression raids?

Question to everyone out there doing progression raiding:

When you know you have to push phases by a certain point, after wiping do you wait for every ones cool downs (especially DPS) to be up prior to next pull or just go ahead and pull right away anyways?

    What is your reasoning?

when we're going for specific pushes, such as t12 progression on week 1, going for 4 bennus, etc, stuff like that, yes we wait for cooldowns.

for initial progression when first seeing beginning phases, we do not wait, because its a waste of time really. until you know what you're shooting for/comfort level, why wait for 2-3+ mins per pull instead of squeezing in more pulls overall for the night?

No waiting. More important to get as much experience with the mechanics. Did your lack-of-DPS cooldowns cause phase 1 of [whatever] to last longer than usual? Well congrats, you just got some extra practice for when shit hits the fan.

    THAT SAID...

SE should just change it so that if it recognizes that everyone wiped (which we all know that they can AT LEAST do in the boss-only battlefields), they should reset all your cooldowns. Fuck, it can't be that hard.

We go for max pulls unless someone's CDs are close to being ready like 20-30 seconds remaining. Especially early on its all about seeing the mechanics and how to deal with them.

Last night we practiced t12 for the full 90minutes with just 7 players.

    Like most people says

If it's your first time and just wanna see the fight like that or first progression parties, I don't wait much, but when you wanna master a phase or make sure you can push then yes we wait

That being said, you should probably talk about each wipe for a few seconds and break down what went wrong. Thats what we try to do at least . . .

Noted, so since everyone is using t12 as an example say your making it to p3 every pull and you KNOW you have to push for 5 bennu's then you'd wait, but first few hours in a raid learning the first couple phases, dont really matter right?
I mean ppl are popping CDs on 3rd Phase to burn Bennus fast so when you wipe your waiting for a minute at least for CD's

We start waiting once we have an enrage wipe and we're close. But sometimes one of my guys gets antsy and says fuck it, just pull. Then when we just barely win before enrage and I give him shit after.

Happened in T8 savage, T11 and T13 so far, lol...

Your DPS would have to really suck to make you go up to 6 Bennus from 5 without CDs at start, a group with mediocore players and 1-2 120 weapon dps should already be closer to a 4 bennu push than a 6 bennu push. For this example waiting on CDs shouldn't make any difference.

For learning mechanics it's a huge time sink to wait several minutes for big CDs to come off timer, but it's even more of a waste of time to just blindly pull without identifying and discussing fundamental issues during progression.

You can't give an absolute answer to this question.

Depends on the fight. Depends on your level of progression on said fight. Depends on the cooldown ("Plz wait 4 mins for Enkindle").

Would be so much easier if SE just made it so cooldowns reset on a dungeon wipe. I know it can't possibly be that fucking hard to code.

I totally agree. The code already exists (in PvP). They just need to implement it to 8-man dungeons. It's kinda ridiculous.

it's definitely not a challenge to code. they're just too fucking stupid to realize why people would want such a thing, among other things.

No, I think it's their way of trying to prevent some kind of weird abuse that players might come up with. So their solution to not have to fix more issues that might result later is to just not allow it.

Your ninja can summon a futon? At least you'll have a place to sit.

We only wait for Monk's Perfect Balance after a short wipe. Otherwise no.
Still, I'd love a CD reset inside Raids...

If we're trying hard to push something, where pots are required, we'll wait for those. For just cooldowns though we'll stall for up to a minute after prot goes up. Anything more and we just go or wait partially.

I assume you're being sarcastic, but if you're not, they could just implement this for trial-like fights. (T9, T12, T13). These are the fights where you'd be spending the majority of your "wait for fucking Perfect Balance" time anyways.
