Almost a year after publisher Ubisoft made headlines for not including female protagonists in Assassin’s Creed Unity, today we’ve got news that there will be a playable woman assassin in the next entry of Ubisoft’s mega-series, according to two people familiar with the game.
This fall’s Assassin’s Creed, which will be officially announced tomorrow as Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, will give players access to two main characters: Jacob and Evie (pictured above in concept art leaked to Kotaku). They’re brother and sister, said a source, and they’ll be heavily involved in the criminal underworld of Victorian London, where the game is set. (We hear it’ll be out this fall for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.)
Oh boy, another multi-dressing female protagonist... as if Liberation wasn't bad enough.
The last 3 entries in the series turned me off so much that I really don't know if Syndicate can salvage anything for me personally at this point...and this is coming from someone who used to be OBSESSED with the AC games until they killed off Desmond.
most of the recent AC games have had multiple costumes?
haven't played liberation so i can't really compare, but Unity had several different sets, some geared for melee, ranged, or stealth and you could mix and match pieces.
Unity was all kinds of fucked up, idk.
As for the premiere, it was interesting but all of the AC reveals are. I just hope this one isn't completely messed up like Unity was, and hope even more for some goddamn progression in the present storyline.
Other than being a victim of itself being released too early/shit ton of bugs, was AC: Unity that bad? I never played it, but I played Rogue and it was good. I was reading an article earlier about how Syndicate is going to have to "save" the AC franchise because Unity and Rogue bombed and it left me scratching my head. I didn't think it was THAT dire.
I thought Rogue was the good one that got swept under the rug by the disaster that was Unity?
If you liked Black Flag you'll like Rogue. I really liked Unity, but no one wants to look at the game behind the launch issues.
Rogue might have bombed because it didn't sell well in all the craziness over how bad Unity was.
I will def try Rogue sometime when my game lineups clear out a bit. Loved Black Flag.
No multiplayer has me a bit optimistic about this, but I did swear off buying AC's on launch because of Unity.
Look forward to the review then.
Ironically lack of competitive multiplayer is why I stopped buying AC.
AC: Syndicate Starring Brock Lesnar
He might just be a placeholder model but it seems weird that Ubisoft would bother animating him to that detail just to be a placeholder in an alpha build.
He's also smacking Frank Mir in the face with that shovel.
