Rogue was a good game, but contributed nothing to the present storyline once again and was more of an AC4 expansion than a standalone game in my eyes. Hell, it was even worse than that because I played AC4 on the PS4 and Rogue used the same models and stuff but was on a PS3. If you got past all of those issues though, the story was pretty solid and gameplay identical to AC4 so it was good.
Unity I never finished, it was an abysmal experience just to climb a building. I assume they haven't contributed to the present storyline either, which is something I'm eventually expecting them to continue since even though Desmond died in 3, they still pushed it further with Juno's escape in AC4. With Unity it just seemed like they wanted to downplay the modern day storyline so much that it's basically gone and now AC is just a history simulation with some assassin/templar name dropping.
I've more or less given up on the present storyline so that doesn't bother me about Rogue. More Black Flag gameplay sounds perfect to me.
Does make me wonder though how they fucked Unity up so bad that even climbing walls is a pain??
I'm okay with completely dropping present day storylines though lol. Would've been fine with it from the start.
if they ever give up the present story i'd be completely out, it's already wearing a little thin, and only time periods of interest would actually even possibly be worth playing at that point.
Trailer was a little underwhelming.
That gameplay trailer was underwhelming. No wonder they didn't show it live.

Jack the Ripper DLC
One month from release and the lack of hype for this title is concerning, and that comes from someone who really enjoys the series.
Having one every year (2 last year) will kill the hype of anything. And the bigger release last year being a glitched ridden disaster probably doesn't help.
A valid point. Black Flag and Unity hype were huge, Black Flag was amazing but the disaster that Unity was at launch is still haunting them.
