Ohhhh man! So hype! So hype!
The armor sets don't look half bad this time around compared to ST. But that's just me of course. Looks like part 2 comes out near my birthday.
Working on translation now, but unless they decide to be original for the English version, it's going to be super boring generic name titles with Demon (or Demon's or Demons') in front (e.g. Demon Fending, Demon Healing, Demon Striking, etc.). Although I guess Demon Slaying armor (DRG) coincidentally sounds pretty cool.
DRG specific gear would be Demon Maiming armor pls
"Slaying" is reserved for STR-based gear for MNK & DRG (mainly jewelry)
HYPE!
i'm so glad they made World of Darkness bosses look much cooler.
also lol Mamook's Palace. Ja ja ja.
story looks to be heating up. hope the storytelling improves. cutscenes need way more action.
I'M JUST BUSTING BALLS DON'T GO OUT OF YOUR WAY FOR THAT SHIT GIMME THE DUNGEON DESCS
Too late, I've stopped all translation and I'm scouring JP sites to find out what every DRG set is called in the game. I'll post a detailed table of comparisons shortly.
(Kidding, almost done with translation)
Looks like this Ascian is getting hands on to awesome effect.
I'll post full article translation with images in a bit, but here are the dungeon and battle descriptions, which are the only real information worth translating (most of the rest is just artwork and summary of info):
Crystal Tower: World of Darkness
At the end of his reign, Emperor Xande of the ancient empire of Allag signed an unholy covenant which allowed for his control of the voidsent. This was done to subdue the powerful armies who opposed him. However, after the battles were over and the crisis was thought to be averted, the voidsent cloud continued to invade the physical world. The Warriors of Light must travel to this void, formerly known as the "World of Darkness," and put an end to the invasion.
Side Quests: Gilgamesh (Hard) Primal Battle
Rivers run through Eorzea.
The swordsman Gilgamesh hides away in a deserted fortress.
He awaits his worthy rival to settle the score, sword in hand.
However, his heart wavers. He seeks his companion.
The revival of a very close friend.
Let the battles begin.
Odin Primal Battle
When the seventh Calamity began, rumors of a ghost knight wandering the Black Shroud began to spread. It was found that the identity of the knight was none other than Odin, from legend. Ancient writings teach that Odin was sealed away in Urth's Fount by the Hero of Allag, but why was he revived? And without believers, how can he continue to exist? Adventurers will unravel the mystery when they face Odin.
The Keeper of the Lake
Fifteen years ago, in the Battle of Silvertear Skies, the Garlean imperial army's airship Agrius was struck and destroyed by the phantom dragon Midgardsormr. The corpse of the phantom dragon coiled around wreckage which fell to the lake below formed a tower now known as The Keeper of the Lake. In order to discover the truth about certain information received from the Ishgardian forces, the Warriors of Light set forth to The Keeper of the Lake.
Wanderer's Palace (Hard)
After the defeat of the Tonberry King, an incarnation of hatred and devotion from his supporters, the tonberries of Wanderer's Palace have gradually regained their sanity. However, their desire to return to a life of solitude has been challenged by a team of Mamool Ja mercenaries which have occupied the temple. The area which used to be a sanctuary is now being fortified for use as a base - save the tonberries!
Amdapor Keep (Hard)
Due to the activities of adventurers, Amdapor Keep has seemed to regain its peacefulness from the Lambs of Dalamud. However, the tainted artworks these worshippers had created across the ruins during their occupation have begun to take form. Further, the plants and animals of the forest have become restless due to the evil forces about. In order to bring peace to the forest and spirits alike, re-enter the Keep and destroy the legacy of the Lambs of Dalamud once and for all.
world of darkness actually has a really cool design
Dat Odin music.
Is the same as the FATE
Don't remember where it was said, either on the forums or in person, but KojiFox confirmed that Gilgamesh does have the Bradamante Hildibrand found at the end of 1.0. That is, the real deal. Much like everything about 2.0 Nael, her Bradamante isn't real and simply some sort of aetherial conjuration. The Pradamante name is a reference to Ecalibur -> Excalipur tho, yea since that's just something Gilgamesh is known for. Something something he didn't believe in the heart of the magitek
Irony that Gilgamesh actually has a real weapon when he's famously known for fakes.
With 2.5 pt.2 coming out Late March and the Battle of Ishgard event closing out the base game for an expansion, I'd hope we see Heavensward by mid-April. May is totally not Spring. >_>
Odin not getting new music is kinda lame. Spoiled by lyrics, I am.
Im selfishly hoping heavensward doesnt come out till mid June
o_O How is May not in Spring? June is the start of summer.
