    BG 2015 New Years Resolution: RIP Local Gym

    So what's everyone's 2015 resolution if you have one?

    Mine personally is to cut back on drinking, like every year lol, and to raise several of my max out sets. Trying to go for that 365 bench and 455 squat max son! Also trying to get my 2-miler back down to under 14 minutes. Oh and to finally finish several games I've been working to beat in 2014 while simultaneously conducting another annual marathon run of Suikoden and Xeno games lol.

    uh... im not sure which end of that scale is the messy end. but 20+ years of collecting and it's basically all in one big pile, but when I moved i put it into bins to transport it but didn't sort them. So it's pretty hard to find specific pieces. i have the drawers to sort it into but there's something like 3,000 unique pieces so it's a challenge figuring out how to categorize them.

    I don't usually set a resolution around new year's eve but it is a good time to reflect and adjust behaviour.

    So this year, I am going to try and talk more positively to myself. Spend too much time telling myself shit ain't good enough or not worth it blabla.

    Finish these last 3 classes, graduate and start work at the engineering firm I've interned at for 5 years
    Squat 300 and deadlift 350 @130lbs BW (pulled 300 dead last month and 255 squat on the 30th)

    Permanent job, new house, a 2016 camaro, a gf that lasts longer than 3 weeks, and finally cut the fat off my body I've been wanting to. Too bad I have to fight the resolutioners at the gym for the next 5 weeks or so. Bleh.

    Start, well not streaming, don't have the upstream for that, but uploading video game things to Youtube. Probably won't ever make money off it like I need to, but hey gotta try.

    Tentatively, actually do c25k this time, but I still haven't managed find a handheld timer that can work in 30s increments like a microwave timer. Tried it just with keeping an eye on a watch, didn't work for me.
    Which is annoying in a world where you can get a bedroom radio alarm clock with the quality and functionality of a car radio (with a laser attached even!) vs. those shitty 90's digital clock radios with the wheel tuner that works for shit and can't even have presets.

    I also need to get this anime backlog out of the way, I'm nearly a year behind at this point.

    I try and be proactive with NY Resolutions, I feel like if I pick 4-5 and get only 2-3 its still an improvement that oriented out of a conscious decision at the turn of the new year where as getting 0 goals achieved of 1 yields nothing.

    1. Get a new job or another promotion - or a raise without either - either way, make slightly more money. I'm getting close to being able to finish the transition finally out of post-college starting out mode and into adult mode, just a little bit shy of being able to pay for everything I need, phone, car, groceries, all my medical supplies (which is like an extra $100-200/month even with insurance), and rent for a place of my own, that I'm not splitting with friends.

    2. Stop drinking energy drinks entirely and drink less alcohol as a means of saving money. The two combined run me like $25/week at the very least.

    3. Improve my hockey performance; right now just under a point/game player the last couple seasons but I'm the 2nd most experienced player on my team (and the only more experienced one is now horrendously out of shape) so my team would really find a lot more success if I could push it over a PPG and bring my goal totals close to a goal per game on their own.

    4. Get more active dating and play less battlefield/NHL/FFXIV and watch less Netflix/porn/etc - reflecting on 2014 I probably went out doing social things 3 times a month - usually once a weekend with an occasional weekend here and there where I didn't go out for anything other than playing sports/doing errands. While that's not awful, I feel like I should be out 2-3 times a week as the whole 3 times a month thing usually means I hit lulls in between girls where after things don't pan out the next one doesn't come around in my life for potentially months and I'm tired of that slower moving cycle. I don't user tinder or any similar apps, I don't think online dating is a very meritable way for me to meet someone, and the whole thing - both meeting girls and finding more social things to do with friends - is compounded by not having any social networking profiles. Which I always mean to remake one but I just can't bring myself to go back. I deleted my FB in late 2012 and havent been on FB/Twitter/anything since then. Maybe I remake one in 2015. But that won't be a goal cause I'm not sure yet that I'd like to.

    5. 'Always' goals (not just for 2015) - continue eating healthier / continue dressing well. I feel like I eat generally pretty darn healthy with tuna, chicken, bananas, yogurt, milk, apples, almonds, etc all being regular staples of my diet and not having eaten anything cooked in a microwave (other than occasional rewarmed leftover ordered pizza), i.e. TV dinners/other preservative loaded foods/etc, in several years and I also feel like I dress pretty well, clothing style wise, but both of them I constantly remind myself to try and do better. There's 1 or 2 things I feel guilty picking up when food shopping that I'd like to not be buying this time 6 months from now and instead have a healthier alternative to and clothing is a continual process too.
