It looks like the Hoshido version outsold Nohr version in early sales reports.
I did not expect that, I thought the JP were a stickler for "hard" modes.

Jp hardcore withstanding the Japanese aesthetic winning out over European aesthetic in Japan seems like no surprise. Given the strong lean towards the wifeu crowd with this one its likely more to do with the support characters in Hoshido version.
NA is getting both as well under the subtitles of Conquest & Birthright

If you pre-ordered the Special edition at GameStop after November 18th, your pre-order is probably being canceled.
Lots of questions because I'm confused.
Are each of these as long as Awakening? Any play order recommendations? Does anything carry over between saves? How does this work digitally?
Each game/"path" is supposed to be as long/big as Awakening, so it's not like Pokemon games where they're basically the same games. I don't know if there's a recommended order (other than playing Revelations (the DLC) last) but I think Birthright is supposed to be the easier of the two so do with that information what you will. I don't think anything carries over between saves but I'm not positive. Digitally you just buy "Fates" or whatever it's called in the eShop and choose your path when the game prompts you, then you can buy the other path for $20 and the DLC I think is $20, as opposed to buying both hard copies for $40 each and then the DLC for $20.
I cant remember, is this "New" 3ds or old 3ds.
Normal olde 3DS.
Digital sounds way better then. Going to go with that.
Wasn't there a bundle of some sorts planned that included both paths in a single card + a code for the dlc, or something like this?
If you're in Europe I think you might still be able to get the Special edition, but in Europe I believe it comes out later than the two separate hard copies do (by a week or two?). In North America the Special Edition comes out at the same time as everything else but preorders have been sold out since the end of November so if you want one you'll have to try poking around stores on release day. I don't believe Best Buy took any preorders so they might be your best bet.
Sorry, I just saw the Gamestop notice and thought to warn people here. I think it was mostly in-store orders that got cancelled but better safe than sorry to check, right?
