I'm so confused. Who gives a shit about a producer that he tried to punch? Especially when they were over worked and refused a break? Or am I misunderstanding the story.

Supposedly the story goes that after a day of filming they went to a hotel and Clarkson wanted steak and chips. Unfortunately, Oisin Tymon who was in charge of making sure the cast had food informed them that the hotel stopped serving hot foot. It was at this point Clarkson went on to verbally abuse the producer for 20 minutes because they didn't have hot food and then he assaulted him. It was also said that Clarkson was the one who reported the "fracas" to management and apologized to Tymon personally after the incident.

No matter what job you have, if your boss comes up and punches you in the face for fucking up something at work that's not okay and generally a terminable offense. Not to mention being illegal. That being said, I feel like the rumor about the BBC sacking Clarkson is true.

I do hope that if its true that they just jump ship to another network.

What I dislike about the whole thing was how hard was it to prove JC did punch the guy, it took nearly 2 weeks.

- Hotel Staff
- Innocent bystanders/public
- Probably a large camera crew
- It was mentioned that Oisin needed hospital treatment (although patient confidentiality could've meddled here)
- Visible signs of injury

It didn't need to be that complex.

Anyways, to any TV network besides the BBC, the idea of taking in the 3 and recreating the show under a different name but the same premise is rather appealing I should think. We know approximately how many viewers there are on Sunday night (4~ million) that tune in to watch. I suspect to any TV network that has advertisements this would be a massive boon to everyone all around. Imagine a 1.5 hour slot (with advertisements) that the network can charge through the ass for advert slots during that time, and whatever else red tape there is when it comes to this sort stuff.

The Stig is owned by the BBC though; so it's likely that character would disappear. If they do, I need a username change ; someone cleverly suggested "The Styg" (for the new top gear if there would be one) lol

Yeh it's all over UK media, but tl;dr for everyone:

BBC will not renew Jeremy's contract (pretty much sacked; but the BBC does not use this term)
30 min verbal abuse from Jeremy, followed by a 30 second assault which required emergency medica treatment (or A&E)
No word from James and Richard yet
