Yoshida was invited to a player event last night on Tonberry. A whole bunch of people decided what better way to show their community spirit than to disrupt the event with non-stop shouts and emotes, swarming the area with their magitek mounts and firing their cannons nonstop. Also preventing Yoshida from teleporting away with non-stop trade requests.
They eventually took refuge inside the organising FC's home.
If Tonberry gets nuked after the update, too bad

I removed the thread because it was spreading misinformation around which is not fair to Yoshida.

- The picture was him showing off a ring from dragon quest, it just happened to be on his middle finger.

- The picture in question was taken before the Tonberry event even happened.

- Witch hunts still aren't allowed, even if they are kind of impossible against an entire server.

Let's not make Yoshida feel bad about an honest mistake. Sure the picture is kind of funny because it's an honest mistake but using it to try and make it look like he was making rude gestures towards players isn't right. We're all on the subreddit because we love XIV so let's show him some support and not make up rumors.

Something to note: In japan, flipping the bird isnt very offensive, its not a thing in japan. Though a fair bit of the people living there know it is offensive in western cultures, its not a big deal there.

it is known as the unofficial "Oceanic server" where it holds 75% non JPs, but other Asians

it only have 25% JP at most and the other 75% are fake JP using google translate

as of patch 2.2, no JP in the right mind will create a char on tonberry.

I have 9/10 irl friends quit FFXIV because tonberry is so fucking retarded

im a Singaporean and I know ALOT of singaporeans are on that server /ashamed

and the 9/10 friends I mentioned above are peeps from my Japanese language school and the stories they shared are just fucking horrifying

all 9 of them would have been more glorified in other JP server since all their Japanese are pretty good too

2nd worst JP server is masamune, where it got 50%ish JP and other 50% non JPs, but i'll leave that story for another day
