    Honeymoon - South America?

So I need some advice from anyone that can give it.

Getting married Sept 26th. We're looking at honeymoon stuff now using my RCI timeshare weeks I have banked. The fiancee wants to do an adventury/outdoorsy kind of vacation somewhere in South America, leaning towards Argentina, San Carlos de Bariloche region.

I've found a timeshare with a resort in the area so that could work. I have not been to South America before so I'm not sure if there are other areas that we should be looking into. I tried searching Peru, but there is nothing available. I also looked at Chile in the Andes, but nothing available there either.

So the real question is, anyone have any suggestions/experiences and can offer good suggestions or advice for a somewhat adventurous place to go? Hiking, some cycling, zip line, outdoor/Jeep tours are the kind of thing we're looking for.

Check out the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador. The American dollar should still be able to take you far there and it's balls to the wall beautiful.

That was an idea, but my fiancee has actually been to the Galapagos on an eco tour. She liked it a lot, but wants to go somewhere new.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I would hope I would be smart enough to not get caught doing whatever it was I was doing.

I'm a very good drug mule. I do all the drugs before I go anywhere so that they're in my blood stream

Let's see the TSA get them!

My impression is that Chile would be the most hospitable in terms of civilization and lower crime, and also general xenophobia. Argentina is sometimes a hot mess. Which is really a shame, because Tierra del Fuego seems pretty awesome. Of course, getting married in September, I don't imagine you'd want to go down there in wintertime.

I might suggest that while you're thinking South America in general, you can get a *lot* of the same experiences you're after in Iceland. Hiking, cycling, Jeep tours, *LOTS* of waterfalls, *volcanoes*, 4G available almost everywhere (even AT THE VOLCANOES), no insane killer spider things...It'd be a good time of year to go, and much safer/easier to deal with (most Icelanders speak English). You don't get jungles anymore obviously, but the scenery is still quite gorgeous. I suspect South America might be cheaper because of general poverty/depressed economies in the continent, but if that's not a strong factor, look at Iceland. I went there in November 2013 and can give you a good bit of information/recommendations if you want.

Alright, this ends my "Have you tried not South America" post in the "South America vacation" thread.

I went to Carnival in Rio a few years back; loved it. Not a cheap trip though.

We were thinking about Denmark and Iceland at one point as well. The fiancee spent two years in Denmark for school and loves it there. Has friends and people to visit, knows the language, etc., but we decided that's not much of a honeymoon thing.

We ultimately decided to go to Guanacaste, Costa Rica and then Riviera Maya, Mexico. Wanted beach weather and the jungle things. Thanks for the advice though guys. Booked them this weekend as they were the last rooms available for exchange with my timeshare.

A group of my friends went to Costa Rica for a few months when school was out back in college. They absolutely loved it which I think was a good push for us to go out there. There seems to be a lot to do in that area as well. Mexico will be our lazy beach & beer part of the vacation.
