meleeing Maat with RDM is easy now with vorpal blade

Just beat maat on my new character (rdm). I chose to melee him instead of the usual sleep/nuke method. Did the usual sleep + dispel everything + enfeeble at the beginning then melee him, healing as needed. Vorpal blade took him to 60%. He chainspelled, i slept him till it wears, used icarus wing, vorpal blade, win.

RDM Maat was really always a joke. Players just didn't know that they sucked and/or lacked gear.

I made this crappy video back before the cap went up when people still shout and complain about Maat RDM being "the hardest" all the time in town. I honestly got tired of how wrong the whining was.

You didn't need top of the line gear you just needed decent gear which you should've had if you were partying. I did this a long time ago and the only problem I ran into was the first time I had forgotten that they had recently changed blink (yeah that's how long ago I did it) so when I tried to dia down the maats blink 1 got thru. But after that loss I did just fine. And yeah at the time I was mostly in af with some hq staffs that had taken me forever to farm because back then my farming was making like 20k-30k an hour lol. My sleep resist rate ended up being like 30-40%. But I'd long been crowd controlling on rdm so when 1 failed I went right to the next when that failed straight to bind/gravity. Never even used chainspell or meds and easy win other than almost timing out

It was so hard to borrow an HQ staff for a single fight huh? No one ever had friends in FFXI.

White never got any of daddys money, and to this day he has given millions to Spicy from bullshit like being payed from shouts needing synthers. Back in the day I just took the time to farm the mats for CC and that was nothing but time wasted profit. We are talking go get sheep hides in bedaeux to make wool to make wool thread. Money for an HQ staff! Still, NQ wind staff and AF with cheapass food. Super hard yo.

Aside from the best fun to this day being my subless DD mule. Part of the fun was always doing it independently. White and Squishy had no money and clawed their way up NPCing shit from XP pts, etc.
