If the prices are going to be what is shown, 390X is likely to be a much better card for price per fps/pixel/w/e you're looking for.
Yup I been keeping up with it. However that list is not the HBM/best of what AMD wants to offer which is the "Radeon Fury" (and 4GB) the 8GB things are rebrands of old generation stuff.

    http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-r9-fu...er-gtx-980-ti/

This is what made me choose the Nvidia 980 ti over Fury though. If anything with driver tweaks and optimizations, it'll be nearly the same, or same fps (excluding mantle driven games) but that won't matter too much in DX12.

I have been on the fence about going 3440x1440 75hz or 1440p 144hz ips. I dont think you need more than 4gb vram unless gamebis terribly optimized.iirc 3gb is still plenty for 1440p.

Side note, i really hate amd's new graphics card naming scheme

If you are running just FFXIV its capped to 3 gigs of Vram atm
and unless you are doing 3d applications on second monitor it will be using very little

How is that 750 drive? I've read the rests and I'm thinking about grabbing one, but not sure if I want to get it right away, or just wait for when I upgrade to the HEDT version of Skylake next year, my fairly old Rampage IV Extreme board isn't that up to spec anyway anymore.

the main problem with 4k is the scaling issues

did you save the file? Wondering your average fps.

Still waiting on Gigabyte, msi, asus. Think I heard Asus was going to boost to 1300+ mhz.

I need 144 frames per second!!!

I got about 87-88fps avg (went from 70-145fps in the game), slightly lower clock than what sunako uses but I went for the semi silent operation so I don't have a jet engine. The card was running about 1,400Mhz

A399U looks good, but you said scaling issues? I've only seen great comments about scaling 16:9 content well from newegg ones (for the more expensive models around 700-900 ranges anyway)

  14. #134

my cards are dead silent now that they have their water block and one I can OC to 1614
the other card doesn't like to go over 1567 it starts crashing a'lot got 2 3dmark hall of fame scores yesterday

and the semi official Fury and Fury X2 benchmarks are out
    http://videocardz.com/56225/amd-rade...rk-performance

as expected, its nearly the same as a 980 Ti, but yeah... needed my new video card IN TIME for FFXIV 3.0 early access not after

As for monitor choice btw, I was thinking of PG27AQ. Although I do hate playing "fullscreen mode only" >.>

As for upscaling... seems most monitors from america are fine with it (like 1080p videos) if you have something like 16:10 ratio for a 3860x2160, its going to look a bit odd no matter what on your 16:9

IIRC, they updated gsync to work with borderless windows.

This is the only comment I found on it, and possibly the best one after looking around (for windowed and borderless)

From what I've seen it has already been done but it's on Windows 10 with driver 349.65 installed. On my Windows 10 desktop my Swift shows the red light on with G-Sync always activated, no idea if this was intentional or by accident.
but nothing about windows 7... then again I did plan to Windows 10 when it comes out anyway so...!

  19. #139

the windowed and borederless windowed modes for gysnc were annouced at the event from nvidia the day before
computex they will be coming in the next month or so. this was also with the addition of gysync to laptops.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fi1QHhdqV4@ 41:23 they start talking about gysnc

Whats your CPU speed at? I have the 4770k but i only bothered to OC it to 4ghz, but it's crazy that the Ti scores 3k more than the 980 SC. maybe i should sell my 980 and buy the Ti. my 980 SC benchmark was around 8700 at your res. But then again, its 60 fps everywhere aside at like LL or MD atherite where its super congested. So I'm tempted to wait and see HW performance before i consider upgrading since if that's the only places it dips under 30 dps in HW (and its 60 everywhere else) then not too concerned
