This is getting crazy, PS4 and TV randomly powering on

Ok i'll try to explain this as best as possible

    1) I have a universal remote but it only controls my TV and my DVR
    2) My DS4 is on my couch and stays closed at all times
    3) My Cat usually sleeps on my bed downstairs
    4) I have another house really close to mine, but our houses are separated by a tick 'firewall' So it's almost impossible that the neighbour is the cause (and why would my PS4 boot anyway)
    5) My Vita is usually off so it's not remote play doing this)

    How my setup is done

My TV, PS3 Sound Bar is on 1 power bar
my PS4 WII U and DVR is on a 2nd power bar but they are on the same outlet

My PS4 + WII U + PS3 are plugged in the same HDMI Switcher that goes in the TV.

Ok so my issue is this randomly either my TV or my TV + PS4 will randomly power themselves on. My WII U PS3 and PS4 are always on Standby (rest mode).

So I work on my PC downstairs and I randomly starts hearing sound upstairs (sometimes beeps, aka the PS4 booting sound)

So I go upstairs and my TV is on. Sometimes my TV will power itself alone, but if my PS4 is powering on my TV will always power itself with it.

As for my PS4, it will either power on and stay at the screen "Welcome to Play station please press power on the controller to use the console" Or sometimes it will power on, then close itself (the orange light is not on) and when I power it manually it boots in safemode to check the disk).

When that happen, all my other devices are still on standby, and it happens randomly like one time it happened at 5 AM and woke me up (because I listen to TV really loud usually).

I have no idea what can cause this.

Um, I found out at least with a PS3 my brother owns that if I charge a synced controller w/my PC (said pc and PS3 are close to each other) when I unplug the controller, the PS3 will mysteriously power on. Kinda spooky, you might want to check that, since it's the same company. (AKA. Are you charging your DS4's at a nearby pc? Or using them as PC controllers too?) Good thing the one I use for my PC is NOT synced, I refuse to do that.

Also check the universal remote. I have one that if I pointed it juuust wrong it'd turn on things I didn't want turned on lol. Might want to try reprogramming it.

The PS3 can turn itself on to auto update. Should not be a common thing though, and there should be a setting for it. I assume the same is true for the PS4.

I would simply start by taking certain devices offline until it stops. What sort of TV is this? Check the batteries in the remote, if they are low then change them or is this a Harmony style remote?

The PS3 thing is normal and I'm aware of it. But the ps4 is not

Like I said my ds4 is on my couch and no one touches it. As for my tv remote I don't see how it would randomly power up my ps4 and it simply can't control it

As for my tv it's a normal 42 inches LG tv

While it does not explain your specific problems, you could check to make sure ps4 has the "Enable HDMI Device Link" option turned off. If that is on and your tv supports it, the tv remote can control some functions of the ps4 playback including powering on and off.

This will solve your issue; most TVs have adaptive instead of passive HDMI ports.

Yes but if it does work, why does the PS4 power up by himself then?

Anyway deactivated it let's see how it goes

PS4 also has the Auto-Update feature as long as the system is left in Rest or Stand-by Mode. PS4 will auto turn itself on for updates.

Rata; This may seem silly but do you happen to have a florescent lamp near the PS4? I can't find the vid now but some guy discovered that this Batman florescent lamp was making his PS4 turn on randomly when it was near the PS4. If you do have one near it, move it across the room, and it should stop.

May sound like a "how silly!" but that might be it. If there's no lamp, well, disk repair.

No lamp near it and I don't see how a disk repair would solve a device that powers on by itself

You mentioned you needed to do it, that's why I mentioned it.

Nah it's not that I need to do it when my PS4 power up 2 things happens

    Either

    1) PS4 powerup and wait at the user login screen
    2) PS4 powerup and 5sec after power itself down, and when it power it up manually it will boot in safe mode and when i reboot it it will do a disk check by itself

Are the PS3/PS4 near each other? Apparently, there's Bluetooth interference between the two. To test it, unplug both, and plug just the PS4 in for a few days. If it stops, there you go.
