    Yosemite Question

Hello! I've used PCs my entire life and finally decided to give OS X a chance. I picked up a macbook pro the other day and have been trying to figure it out. One feature from windows that I used all the time was in regards to the layout of separate programs on my screen. I was able to hit the windows button and left or right to split my screen and see two different things side by side.

Anyone have any idea how to do this in OS X? Is is even possible?

Any other tips would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

I think you mean BetterSnapTool, unless there are two apps that share really similar names.

Best two bucks you will ever spend on an app imo. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bett...17375580?mt=12

So here's a dumb question. Once I buy the app, is it something I have to load up every time i get on the laptop? Or once this app is installed it just automatically loads whenever I boot up. Do these apps slow down the system kinda like having multiple things running on a pc?

I believe you can configure it to run on startup. I'm sure it takes some amount of resources but I have never had an issue with it slowing down my system.

    Took a few screenshots:
    Spoiler: show

As you can see it does not use a lot of resources and there is an option to select it to run on startup.

edit: Apparently the screenshots are huge, sorry about that.

It's the only one I felt was a must have since buying my Macbook last year. Really missed the window snapping feature from Windows and this fixed that for me. If you were a developer I would suggest homebrew which isn't something from the app store but I have no idea what you are going to use your Macbook for so not sure how useful that is to you.
