Dual Monitor problem

Good evening everyone!

My PC has a AMD Radeon R9 270X. In front of me there are two monitors, a BenQ G2222 HDL and a Samsung SyncMaster T220. Both are connected to my PC via DVI.

Now whenever i switch them on, the BenQ one works fine but the Samsung flashes up for ~1 second and then goes black. Power light is still on, sometimes the Source-button brings back the picture, again for only a second.

Tried switching cables, switching ports on pc, updating drivers

Any help is greatly appreciated

Ive heard of stuff like this happening with dual DVI, have you tried HDMI or display port on one of them instead?

Neither model is a dual-link DVI monitor, that was my first thought too as someone with multiple 2560x1440/1600 monitors.

Should i try one monitor with DVI/HDMI cable? Neither of the monitors have a HDMI port. (Theyre both pretty old, not gonna bother with buying new stuff soon)

I used these for a while before I upgraded my monitors, I also had two for display ports as well. Never had a problem with the products like this but I've heard the horror story that floats around in the review section every now and then.
