Comedy Central presented the trailer for a new animated series titled MoonBeam City, which stars Rob Lowe and Will Forte. The series is created and executive-produced by Scott Gairdner, with Tommy Blecha and Richie Schwartz serving as co-executive producers.

Story:

Moonbeam City is described as a surreal, retro-futuristic spoof of 80s cop drama. The story revolves around a handsome, yet intellectually bankrupt detective named Dazzle Novak and his competitors – a sexy, control freak chief named Pizzaz Miller and the obnoxious rival Rad Cunningham. Together with the city’s only competent police officer, Chrysalis Tate, they fumble their way towards a never-ending game of one-upmanship while protecting the neon-soaked metropolis from criminal elements.

Hmmm not sure how I'm feeling about this after the first 2 eps.
It's like 4/10, might give it another episode or two before dropping.

I mostly just feel bad for the people involved because the writing is so awful. Half the time it's trying to be Archer, the other half it's trying to be a pile of shit. Unfortunately, it's trying to be Archer: Vice which was already a pile of shit. You've got two piles of shits basically.

I feel like they walked up to Rob Lowe and said, "Here watch this episode of Archer". He thinks it's brilliant, they pitch him Moonbeam City as "Archer in the 80s" where you play Rob Lowe.

And then this is what it became.

Ep 3 was a lot better, I admit I'm a sucker for the music/art and setting, but it picked up quite a bit.
