    Wifi/Internet connection issues....I don't get it

So, out of the blue, my PC decided that the wifi I connect to's settings were not compatible and would not work. I googled the fix on another pc that worked just fine, and it lead me to a fairly simple solution. Open up sharing center -> manage wireless networks -> forget network and then redo the pword and whatnot. I do that, but now my PC wont accept the pword for the wifi even though I am 100% correct on it. Other pcs are connected to it with that same pword. It's on the router. I haven't inputted it in wrong either. It just says incorrect pword. Any chance anyone has any idea what to do? Also, why/how does something like this happen? I didn't install anything new, it was just like "nah man"?

It could be on the way out, your wi-fi connector.

Anyone know what could make my cable internet goes down like clockwork every night around 8-9 P.M.? We recently bought a new modem and router, and it is still doing it so I'm assuming it's on the ISP's end.

Some routers have a really dumb setting that require them to reauthorize every 24 hours, but that's old tech, I'd be shocked to see it in a new router.

Well, this would have to be two different routers, one a Netgear N600 refurb that sucked balls and the new one is a Belkin AC1200 which I bought in hopes that it's work and they'd leave me alone at night.

Ever since upgrading to win10 on our laptop, the WiFi will connect 50%,of the time on startup, forcing a restart if not connected (can't just rejoin, must restart) I have no idea what causes this, but assuming its win10 issue. Anyone know how I can find my way to wep/wep2 stuff in win 10?

Are you wired to the router or are you just talking about wifi?

As a troubleshooting step, if you have a ethernet cable and a laptop, pc or gaming system nearby, you can wire the connection and see if it goes down too.

You need to identify if it is your wi-fi going down, or your connection going down. Those are two separate things.

Wi-fi can gear weird for any number of reasons. Hell, my friend's used to go down whenever his neighbor ran his microwave.

    It's the connection itself.

Ok so, guy came out, turns out the issue was a 5-way splitter up in our attic so he bypassed it and now signal pretty much goes from the cable box outside to the modem.

Now it stays connected and load times are fast but I have a whole new issue, lag/latency. In XIV I frequently experience 1-1.5sec latency (estimated). Not enough to destroy gameplay if I'm compensating for it, just enough to be noticeable. On my PC, I'm experiencing choppy video on Youtube. Prior to the line reroute, new modem, and new router I'd occasionally have lag spikes of an estimated 2-5sec varying wildly, this has stopped but the choppy latency is much more common.

    Any ideas?
