Can't blame them considering g all the work they do during a season
Imo this season is far weaker than season 18. The continuity is there, which opens up possibilities, but I'm barely laughing at all here. I'd say season 17 was also funnier than this.
I hate all of this tumblr bullshit. Makes me cringe and not in a "oh god I can't believe they said that!" way. And in this instance, I hate the continuity thing they got going on.
The season is still young. The second episode was an instant classic and last weeks episode was fucking hilarious, but I guess as has been posted before, that's because I've seen the shit literally happen to my old Spanish Harlem neighborhood.
Most of South Park is like that though, if they do something topical it tends to only hit hard for those with experience. I could probably go through every season of South Park and pick out the shitters/ones that just didn't work for me.
Sometimes you swing and you miss.
I have whole food experience; this was just a weak episode imo. Hoping it picks up quickly.
It was kind of a sum of the parts for the last episode. I used to live in Jack London Square in Oakland, which is a picture perfect example of what the episode entailed down to the Whole Foods.
Without fully understanding/having experienced both topics they were taking shots at you're missing out on alot of the joke.
I guess if you've never experienced gentrification it's just not funny. It's rampant here in KC.
Yeah, people seem to misunderstand me. I get the joke, I really do, they just weren't that funny; as in, I watch the show and I just don't laugh.
Just a heads up for future reference: South Park studios posted their schedule and it appears that there will be a total of 3 "dark weeks" when the show doesn't air.
[Dark Week] – October 7th
• Episode 1904 – October 14th
• Episode 1905 – October 21st
• Episode 1906 – October 28th
[Dark Week] – November 4th
• Episode 1907 – November 11th
• Episode 1908 – November 18th
[Dark Week] – November 25th
• Episode 1909 – December 2nd
• Episode 1910 – December 9th
That ending was gold.
Holy crap lol. I thought it was pretty mediocre until the end.
Watching this Yelp bullshit in person and how good restaurants bend over backwards for these jerks is nice to see get some mediocre attention.
Dat ending though. . . GLORIOUS!
This week it's my turn to be completely out of the topical humor loop, as I don't get the Yelp stuff.
Ending was fun for the whole family though.
A couple of my friends' families run small restaurants in town. This hits so close to home. I'm dying. They're dying. We're all having a blast with this episode.
