Diabolos fight help...

we were able to beat mammetts with whm,rdm,blm,blm,nin,bst with the bst and rdm on kite duty on our 2nd try. adjusted real well so if people say that diabolos is easier than mammetts than i am pretty confident that we can win. will most likely do a dry run in order to get a feel for the BC before attempting it with 2hrs and expensive items and such.

I think 4 BLMs, a rdm and the leecher is the perfect setup.

We did it PLD, 4BLM, RDM.

I don't know your experience with CoP wyrms, but breath weapon goes through Invincible.. We goofed on our Ouryu run and didn't Sleep on ground so he went to air fast..

2 BLM is capable of winning Ouryu using Freeze and sleep with a RDM. 6-7 freeze is all it takes iirc. (Edit: I don't mean just 2BLM+RDM, but a full PT with those jobs among them)

We got 6 Freezes off (Some probably resisted.) And the RDM won the BC with Chainspell nuking. <3

Recently won with 3xBLM RDM SAM RNG. SAM and RNG did nothing but use mistmelts to ground him so RDM could sleep. Took 9 freezes overall, but that's because we missed some dispels and a couple freezes were heavily absorbed by stoneskin. NIN is awful for this, he uses AoE spells to rape shadows, and can't be stunned b/c he's earth based. Don't really need a tank, but 2xBLM 1xRDM + whatever can pull off a win with a few mistmelts.

I think i've done Diabolos 5 times but only once with a DRK. With a DRK this fight is simple as long as he doesn't go crazy with Nightmare. If you don't have a DRK, it's really just a race against your own HP and time. If you lined up right he won't really hit you off the ledge standing against the wall on the same tile he's initially on. Without a DRK this BC becomes mostly based on luck with Nightmare and the Bio he gives you. it's doable, but sometimes he just decides you aren't going to win.

we had the blm sleep Diabolos, yes he can be slept, while waiting for Stunt to recharge, the ninja used some food that had resist sleep as well as barsleepra the fight took us 17 min but we won, pt set up was nin,drk,whm,blm,rng,smn

Ouryuu is a really fun fight when you don't cheat and manaburn it.

Cheating would be doing something the game doesnt normally allow.

You can try eating jack-'o-'lanterns for the +25 dark resist, plus it has Accuracy +10 & Evasion +10 for when your shadows go down. Seemed to help our NIN in our group.

I love how ppl can get higher exp chains & exp/hour in an axe burn pt, yet nobody screams to nerf warriors for hitting nearly 2k rampages.

I get very fast xp in axe burn pt no matter if it's sky or ulegard, always beats my manaburns that I have, why no comprain, why.

Sorta different situation, CoP missions are fun, going all the way thru riverne to kill that bc in 30 seconds is a waste of time imo. It's like totally anticlimactic

It's one thing to find the most efficient/quick way to kill something you gotta kill over and over and over (gods/hnm/nm/etc), but unless you're doing CoP missions for hire with a manaburn pt or something, it kinda takes away from the experience when going through it the first time :3

Personally, I just wanted to get it done. My "cop static" which has died is still on Professor on Sacrarium

I'd much rather go all the way to the BC & win it, whichever means possible, be it manaburn or standard, and get it done. I dont really care much for a climax/anticlimax to the story either, CoP hasnt really impressed me much, it's the dumbest expansion pack for any game I've played (that had expansion packs).

That's a damn fun fight though with only 2 blms. We ended up winning while it was flying in the air. We couldnt bring it down and so pld ended up kiting for last 2 minutes. Ended with us all in orange hp. Ahhhh, gotta love the CoP rush

On expansion packs.. FFXI's bother me completely.. Release a huge pack and unlock small segments at a time? Try making them more quickly and keeping them open from the start..
