The only reason CoP was released as soon as it was (and unfinished as it was) was because WoW & EQ2 were being released, they needed to counter it.

I'd have much rather waited & got a complete expansion, than a rush attempt (just like Loz: Wind Waker's ending got rushed (it's missing a temple that was meant to be implemented ) to compete with xbox/sony)

I understand that, but if the companies would be more open and outgoing instead of secretive, then it would help a lot too. I hate reading "We're planning on adding some new things, but.. it's secret wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww."

I mean, come on. Tell us what it is and get us interested.

Exactly. I can understand keeping quest secrets and such, don't want to tell people what to do, but give us stuff.

But... Sub jobs... It's rather basic.. White mage or Warrior. Unless you're a White mage or Warrior.. then it's Black mage and Ninja.

Back to COP.. The missions are utter crap. I understand them wanting to add difficulty instead of a level 75 plowing through the missions at light speed, but the missions are crap. Story seems ok I suppose. Added some new pretty areas. Some new armor, of which, it's either unobtainable by average players (BRD JSE anyone?) or just not worth it.

Well, I just went through the fight last night. Our first attempt was WAR, NIN, DRK, BLM x3. Used Jack-O-Lanterns for food for +25 dark resist. First attept resulted in a near wipe as Diabolos raped us with nightmare (20 hp/tick bio 4tw). Thankfully me and another blm managed to escape out.

After a quick HP back to Windy to pick up whm/smn (37), 2nd fight went a lot more smoothly. Erase and regen are critical to surviving nightmare and effectivly defeating Diabolos. Two casulaties, one from Mijin Gakure & and second after the fight from bio (while both healers were still in CS).

My setup for Ouryu was RDM RDM BLM PLD THF SMN. We tried 5 times with normal tactics and couldn't get him below 80%. So we tried manaburning. Helps we had 2 RDM to help each other out with sleeps. We managed to pull it off manaburning with only 1 BLM. SMN helped out at the end with a quick Astral Flow, but yea. Definitely would be nice to have more than 1 BLM. 2 BLM make it easy, 3 make it trivial.

For Ouryu, three smns with two hi ethers and one yagudo drink each can finish him on any day except ice day. Have all 3 buff the party, then have them cast Aerial armor on Garuda (keep her out) then wait for bloodpact timer to cool down, have the other 3 members (whatever they are) run up and aggro Ouryu, weaken his stoneskin then all 3 summoners Aerial blast. Eat a hi ether, wait for timer to be ready again, repeat. Once all 3 summoners have done 3 Aerial Blasts, he should be pretty much dead (if one gets resisted you may have to peck at him some more). You pretty much want him to be flying for this strat, since his breath will do ~14 to Garuda (since its the same as earth damage on a wind elemental)

So does "let's blink tank everything because it takes no healing", but the mobs still drop goodies when they're killed.

Only time I fought kirin without a thf, the drops were horrid. Osode, Shining cloth, 2x w legs of one kill...
