Black suit for spider manOriginally Posted by Who Dat?

Wonder how well they will pull Venom off. Well special effects have gotten pretty great over the years, but it will be difficult to make Venom look even remotely realistic.
It's not black suit, it's black and white photo. The actual black suit looks like this...

The caption by the picture said it wasn't black and white, and that looks more like venom, but without the depraved face.Originally Posted by Hirronimus

Hate my work comp.... sorry for double post.
Note where I said it looked like venom without the depraved face. Thinking back to the old spiderman cartoons though, I can see where both spider man and venom images would come from. I just thought that spider man 3 would be about the green goblin again.Originally Posted by Hirronimus

Yeah I know what the comic version of spidey in the symbiote costume and what Venom looks like. I was talking about how it wil be realized on film. Remember how they made Green Goblin into a retarded Power Ranger's villian knockoff? Or how they butchered Doc Oc? I wouln't be surprised if the filmakers fucked around with the costume and Venom's look somewhat.
What would you of liked the green goblin to be, and how did they (unreasonable due to time constraints on the movie length) butcher Doc Oc?Originally Posted by Eternus
Green Goblin is required to be seen with a sense of humor... he would actually look less retarded in his comic book form. He was very much a cheesy Joker ripoff in that sense IMO. Never liked the Goblin that much to be honest. Doc Oc was butchered in that his actual character was wrong. Doctor Octavius wasn't some good guy gone bad because those arms took over his brain. He was evil to begin with. Nothing at all to do with his brain being taken over by AI programmed into some mechanical arms. Also Spider Man's webbing is something he invented and actually mechanical, not some natural shit that shoots out of his arms that also comes from the mutation.
Well if you don't like the Green Goblin to begin with, then it isn't fair to say you don't like how they portrayed him in the first movie. As for Doc Oc in the second movie, I can see your point on that, but I don't think butchered would be the right word to describe it.Originally Posted by Eternus
having always been a fan of the comics i can understand where you come from with calling the stuff they did butchering.
IMHO it seemed like they gave it a much more realistic<sp?> aspect. more natural. A spider can spin webs on its own so why not spider man? the only reason they didnt in the comics was they used the fact that he runs out as plot points and cliff hangers in the comics.
As for doc oc, they just wanted to give him a more humanisitic<sp?> character aspect. someone we could love too hate i guess.
Humanistic? Since when aren't insanely evil people realistic and humanistic? How the fuck does making up some shit about Octavius being a nice guy at one time make him human? Hitler sure as hell isn't seen as being a nice guy to make him more human and he isn't even a comic book villian.
Realism? This is a movie about a fucking super hero.. you always should suspend belief. Him getting superpowers from a spider bite is in no way more realistic than him being a brilliant science student who makes his own innovation (webbing). Hollywood did this to put their own stamp on things, in the Spiderman movies cases it worked out not so horribly. Nothing would be as bad as what they did to Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four movie. That movie got ruined in the first 20 minutes.
I <3 spiderman. Can't wait till the new movie is out.
That is Sandman, one of the main villains the Spider-Man 3. Gwen Stacy will make an appearance, and from the looks of this image, Venom will at least be introduced.Originally Posted by Hirronimus

You expect them to make the movie exactly like the comics just to please comic geeks? If they did and only geeks went to see the movie, the wouldn't make any money.Originally Posted by Eternus
At first, I didn't like him being able to spin his own web, but I got over it and enjoyed the movies. They're MOVIES, not comics. Comics is a niche market. Niche = no money.
Wouldn't Hob Goblin(or something like that) make more sense than Green Goblin?
