    Mavi Kavuk +1 testing:

325 Blue Magic Skill, 0 Enchainment merits, Sauromugue Skinks. Used windower time stamps to record poison duration.

With Mavi Kayuk +1 and 99 TP:
    Chain Affinity Queasyshroom
    05:04:47 - Starts casting
05:04:49 - Presumed poison start time based on 2sec casting time
    05:07:05 - Poison wears
    2m16s duration

No head gear and 99 TP:
    Chain Affinity Queasyshroom
    05:12:12 - Starts casting
05:12:14 - Presumed poison start time based on 2sec casting time
    05:14:30 - Poison wears
    2m16s duration

So there appears to be no TP bonus...

    Damage testing:
Wild Rabbit, 0 TP, STR 61+41 DEX 71+42.

CA Vertical Cleave with no head gear
    Dmg: 943, 1067, 926, 1254, 1339

CA Vertical Cleave with Mavi Kavuk +1
    Dmg: 1437, 1395, 1374, 1371, 1275

CA Vertical Cleave with Mavi Kavuk +1 on during CA, then taken off before Vertical Cleave
    Dmg: 1159, 1321, 1172, 920, 1161

I recognize the sample size is shit, but it's 6am and the 2min recast on CA isn't helping. Short conclusion seems to be that damage is increased while Mavi Kavuk +1 is equipped while casting a spell under CA. Doesn't seem to work to just use it with CA and gear swap after. It's not clear whether this is a potency increase or increase in stat modifiers.

If anyone who understands the math better than I wants to devise a more accurate test (including a way to determine if it's a potency or stat mod increase) I'd be happy to run it over the next couple days.

Regarding the Flown the Coop quest, make sure you're doing the quest with at least 2 people in a party, you can cut the average time almost in half. When one person catches the bird everyone gets credit and can turn in the quest, so whoever is not going after the bird can just wait by Brutus and get a head start zoning out. By the time one person gets back to the chocobo spot the other should just be making it to Brutus to flag the quest. The run in which you catch the bird takes 5-6 minutes but the run your partner catches only takes you 2 minutes. Can be done with at least 6 people like this, haven't tried alliance. Also teaming up means you don't have to wait to trade greens if people are spamming it as much as they are here. Took me 148 runs over 2 days to get 8 Mavi, 8 Creed, 6 Aoidos and 18! Tantra.

If you don't have atma or crimson, you can sub sch, use Sprinter's Shoes, then after you gain the quickening effect, cast sandstorm and swap to desert boots. This helps to cut down the time a little bit.

    BRD/SCH = +48% movement speed.

Mazurka stacks with quickening effect from sprint shoes stacks with equipment movement speed from desert boots.

25 min wasted soloing Eft is 25 min wasted not doing 5-8 Chocobo Quests for the same drop.

This is true from what I've seen, Whiro doesn't like to drop the seals, and you have to wait for pop, and fight time.

Leg seals on the other hand.... effin Murex spicules.

Lately, I've been having really good luck with murex spicules dropping from ephemerals in misereaux. About 5/8 on the last round. blu/nin. doing the cookbook of hope restoring you'll usually run into 1-3 ephemerals as you walk around searching for the ???

The Bat NM in Misareaux is really easy and drops seals at a decent rate. I would suggest doing that rather than messing w/ murex.
There's a broken wall down near where the brown birds pop (forgot the name) that it can be kited around.

I did the Bat 8 times, 5 solo, and got 1 mavi seal: legs.

Honestly, the fastest not-buying-spicules-off-the-AH way is the Orobon NM. Key item is easy to get and easy to kill for really, any job that can nuke. Get 3 people who have sch or blm or rdm, or w/e can nuke and spend 2 hrs, you'll kill at least 10 (if no one else is poppping it), if not more.

Fuck that quest. Too many people not willing to team up. I've done 5 whiro so far and seen 4 mavi seals

If anyone is interested in Murex Spicules, I suggest EXPing on them for drops as they are pretty BLU-friendly mobs. If you can keep them silenced they are pretty defenseless little creatures.

They don't drop Ruby light though, which is a double-edged sword in itself. I liked them better than Puks in Vunkerl.

Is there some fast trick to getting Mavi seal: head? I'm assuming it's people teaming up for the quest (does it work for a PT only, or for a whole alliance?), I see like no NAs with it, but tons and tons of JP BLUs have it.

Trick is they just do the quest. On Shiva anyway I always had a full pt during jp hours and almost always soloed during NA hours. Partying roughly doubles the speed

The quest took me about 11 hours, which is about average based on what I've been hearing. Based on reports, killing the various NMs seems to take about the same time.

So yes, the "quick" way is to just buckle down and do it on a Saturday when you have 11 hours to kill.

If you are running low on stones, you can do it in a party and only personally spend a min or so inside per run, though someone is losing the full amount of time (though in a large enough party sharing the role of runner won't kill much of your time either).

Reason is you have to be persistent and patient at the same time. The best way to do it is in a party (doesn't work in an alliance). Doing it in a party cuts down on time and also cuts down on having to wait for other people you may be competing against for the Chocobo Spoor. I did mine through all hours of the day, mainly with JP's and showing them how to do the quest in a group to make it go faster. It took me somewhere around 90 runs to get 8 Mavi seals for head and along the way I completed MNK and PLD head seals somewhere around the 60th run. I could have gotten more BRD seals, however, I did the 80/80 inventory trick to have the game drop the seals I didn't want after finishing MNK and PLD so I didn't continue to fill up inventory with things I didn't need. Flown the Coop is by far among one of the easier quests for seals.

As far as I understand it, since the seals stack, having inventory 80/80 will mean that you can't physically get any seals that aren't already in your inventory.

As an example, say you have BLU head seals in your inventory and you're 80/80, the game won't physically give you any other seal when you turn in the quest except for BLU. Any time it would try to give you the others it would just give you cruor.

At least that's my understanding. I don't think you can guarantee the drop.
