He's no Imp or Sea Puk, but he just doesn't take magic damage. BLMs are pretty much only useful every 15 minutes or only good for stunning. I'm going to level up DRK subjob so I can go NIN/DRK and get some souleater max-haste action in sometime. Wheeling thrust also ignores target DEF as far as I know, looks like maybe his homam body proc'd on the thrust. I've /never/ had an unresisted spell on him without elemental seal and I've fought him 5-6 times.
