    Default Magus Bazubands

    Great piece of AF, or greatest piece of AF? For those that don't know, its the blue piece that enhances learning spells.

    I just went 1/1 on Temp Shift, 1/1 on Plasma Charge, 1/2 on Disseverment and 1/4 on Saline Coat. Fucking ownage. I also think the body helps because of the +skill. I feared getting some of those spells (especially Plasma Charge) but I was picking them with no problem.

    I also went 1/1 on Reactor Cool. No idea how hard that is otherwise. These gloves own and I finished off almost all my spells in the course of an hour.

    I still don't like the idea of a useless piece of AF after I cap out my job, but then again alot of AF ends up being useless anyway. Still wish it had more versatility to it.

    Here's an idea. Couldnt they just make BLU magic easier to learn (since every BLU and their mother will get the AF anyway) and actually put useful stats on the gloves?

    I think SE said BLU will be getting more spells eventually. I think they will be nice to have when they do that. Unless you wanna lvl blu in however many months it takes them to add those spells.

    I got most of the sea skills 1st try long before the AF even came out. I think the 71+ spells are just very easy to learn. Took a blu in my linkshell 6 or 8 tries to learn memento mori today with the bands. I don't think they help that much, and since I have all my spells now, they're utterly worthless. Worst effect on gear EVER. If SE thinks learning rate should be improves they should... well... improve it!

    Well tbh, not everyone was 75 when this AF came out, blame SE for it not being available from start, so its uselss to you yes, but not to many others.

    1/7 Feather Barrier, 1/2 Magic Fruit, 1/2 Light of Penance, and 1/3 Flying Hip Press.

    <3 SE, great piece of gear. I've had horrible luck on some spells before this, but learnign today was a breeze.

    It's sad when people are so happy that there is a piece of gear that makes aquiring abilites a job needs to function less painful. It's a sign of how far FFXI has strayed in the incorrect direction. But, hay! the game is still fun.

    I wouldnt enjoy BLU as much if the spells were handed to me.

    It's going to be really, really hard to guage these gloves just for the sheer randomness of learning abilities in the first place.

    Case in point; I was catching up on and learning some future spells at level 22 and had to see Poison Breath (22) done eleven times to learn it. We then killed a random giant that aggroed in Misareaux and I learned Grand Slam (30) the first time I saw it.

    I was with my friend for every spell he learned so I might be able to report something in the future.

    All I remember is attempting to help a friend learn a pretty shitty ability. The terrorize one... we had two blu there... took one of them around 2 hours to get it... then the other one didn't get it in a four hour period. We killed more then 40 (I really have no idea how many) hyppogrypps in B which used Jettura...

    1/2 Dissevernment, 1/1 plasma charge, which I soloed as blu/nin lol. Spells after 70 seem easier to learn, only one the took more then 5 times seeing it was temp. shift. Memento at 75 with +4 skill from merits took like 10 tries, and body slam only took 3... (Got body slamm like two days before gloves were released ; ; ) It's all so bloody random it drives me next. As Russta has said before, it took like 8 hours for diamondhide, thus he'll get it on first try just to annoy me.

    Actually, I haven't leveled BLU yet (And I do intend to take it to 75 as soon as PLD is done) but I agree that any piece of AF that is destined to eventually be useless shouldn't be in the game. A permenant item shouldn't have a temporary effect (Aside from like... Ducal Guard's Ring and Stable necklaces and shit like that). Its AF for christs sake, it should always have at least some applicable stat (Even if its shitty and/or totally situational) instead of something that will inevitably be nothing.

    Whatever, I'll take that over the bullshit that is 4/5 of DRK af and 5/5 of AF2. At least it serves some practical function, albeit an eventually ending one.

    Whatever, I'll take that over the bullshit that is 4/5 of DRK af and 5/5 of AF2. At least it serves some practical function, albeit an eventually ending one.

    Did you forget about AF+1? Any AF that is already useful tends to have a decent upgrade in its AF+1 counterpart, ex: BLM hat. I think the hands are a neat idea, but I wish they had other stats that made them worthwhile to use beyond learning blue magic.

    Maybe SE will make it so you forget BLU spells and abilities after a period of time..

    That AF+1 will be really good.
