Quality, not quantity...
Do people really still play table top rpgs?
After reading a few hundreds, some are absolutly priceless...
383. It is not ok to use 10,000 rounds to kill two sentries.
389. My samurai is not required to commit seppuku if he fails to hit the monster.
472. When my cleric is told to "Buff the Elf", I know exactly what it means and may not miscontrue it in any way.
552. If my character's drow wife finds I let my neice appear in a Gnomes Gone Wild Video, my death will not even warrant a saving throw.
697. No "accidentally" crosswiring the X-Wing's fire control and ejection seat switches.

Yeah, so? I never denied it, I know I'm one.
D&D is fun. But only when I play with some people I have known sence first grade, oh and my brother. We get like 10 people, some cheetos, and play til the sun comes up. Funniest. shit. ever.
I tried playing but I think the kid that told me the shit after I rolled was lying.
I played once, Your dexterity is too low to open the door, I quit.
No, that was a case of retarded DM. Unles your character had massive birth defects (lol?), that statement was completely moronic.Originally Posted by Minions
And yeah, D&D = Fun if your among a gang of friend and taking it extremely loose around some food. Playing it 100% seriously? I never could do that.
Does Risk count?
Risk fucking rocks, lol. I havn't played it for years though.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
I was a DM for roughly 10 years, hosting AD&D/D&D campaigns. I don't have much experience with other systems in comparison, though I've tried the White Wolf system once and have breifly scanned the LOTFR and GURPS systems.
Most of my experience has been in the d20 works.
Oh, and yes, many people still play pen and paper RPGs. You could say, in fact, that the true roleplayers all still play pen and paper RPGs.
Oh man when I lived in a 4 bedroom right outside the bar district in a college town, whenever we had a kegger we'd play drinking risk on the front porch the next day.Originally Posted by Unklemonkey

Never got too into these myself but I loved the laid back atmosphere of playing with a few friends. Playing for fun is the shit, could never take it seriously.
Used to know a guy who wrote his own PnP RPG, all the rules, items..everything, and he used us to test it. Good times:
Random Player: I throw my plasma grenade at the sentry!
GM: The sentry picks up the grenade, pulls the pin and throws it back at you.
Random Player: ....Shit

Random Info: Highly recommended movie about a PnP Gaming session, it's called "The Gamers" Linky: http://gamers.deadgentlemen.com/
Those are the momments that make that game all too worthwhile to be a DM. When the player makes something moronic you can turn against him and see his face when he realizes what he has done.Originally Posted by Wintermute
Setting: Band of mercenary players trying to get inside an enemy base undetected. (Homebrew system based off Aeon Trinity)
Player1: I take out my sniper riffle, aims it to the sentry's head, and fire.
DM: Roll firearm skill check.
(blah-blah, dice roll, the player's succeds and hits)
DM: You sucessfully hit him and injure him to the ear. He's still alive, but knocked uncouncious, after receiving 2 damage.
Player1: No! It should be over 10 damage, that was an explosive bullet!
DM: ... His head explodes with a loud bang and alarm is given.
Player3 slapped Player1 behind the head at this point.
Epic battles like on Seinfield? Risk is a better board game.Originally Posted by Plow
