I didn't steal anything, i just said mine wasn't genuine and i dont want to spend money to change that - i dont feel i should have to.

I steal just as much software as the next guy, but if you think it's not stealing and complain that companies are trying to take measures against piracy then lol

Just because you steal things and pirate things and make it so measures must be taken so that honest people lose out (don't really know how that works) does not mean that I or everyone else does too.

If that's truly the case, then you actually have a leg to stand on, and should be able to resolve the issue by contacting Microsoft. I've had to do the exact same thing on a couple occasions for clients of mine and they were able to resolve it.

I fail to see how not spending money, yet having windows, and refusing to spend money somehow netted you a legit version of windows that just so happens to not be genuine. You have the worst luck!
