best war weapon combo in merit pt?

Jug/ridill, man/ridill, ridill/joy?

i'm next in line for ridill in my ls, and have been doing man/joy, 8 axe merits 4 sword.

The fact you put that in there is a sad example of the state of endgame in FFXI.

Ridill is overated against most HNM (woodville/maneater do the same or very close). Ridill/joyeuse is great against piercing/weak mobs, but maneater/ridill is what offer the most constant result. Never uses joyeuse against HNM



The main problem with ridill is that you are forced to rewrite most of your merit when you get it on warrior. >_> And once you are done rewriting all of them, you don't really need ridill since you wont xp nearly as much. Still an awesome weapon tho.

And it sits in the same box as Relic weapons, where people think that it's all they need to become jesus in a haub. Without the supporting gear & setup it's really not all that.
