To be fair, we've had this debate before whether or not they have the ability to fly in Soul Society. It was always in the Living World and/or Hueco Mundo where they became fighter jets. And the point has been made several times SS is built different when it comes to reishi or whatever the fuck term for spiritual energy.

Not too sure why you are irritated, Ichigo more or less explained the same thing before Grimmy made his entrance. Descorrer was also always used by high level Arrancar as well, it was always their plotkai way of getting anywhere from Hueco Mundo. Nothing here is really new or should be surprising, other than Grimmy's return.

If high level arrancar could open a portal anytime they wanted straight to the soul palace, Aizen didn't need to sacrifice a town to make a soul key.

Considering the balance between worlds was interrupted I'm not sure why this is suddenly an issue.
