Yamamoto presumably is not down with collateral damage given that he sacrificed himself rather than seeing Wonderweiss blow up and kill everyone during the fake Karakura arc (even though it would have also killed Aizen). Since his sword is sucking all the water out of Soul Society, presumably if he waits too long, it'll set the whole place on fire, so he probably can't use it for long, drawn out battles. Now, whether that weakness ever matters depends on if he's ever met someone who can stand up to his power, but presumably if he did, his Bankai would have a time limit.

Also, really hoping this whole thing is not as predictable as we're all imagining it is going to be.. I really don't want the old man to lose his Bankai, I just wanna see him go to town on these guys with it >.>;

Might be the case that the bankai kills him (Would make sense given his dialogue when fighting Aizen). That said, this bankai would be useless against Aizen since he would just make the old man slash down his entire crew lol.

Loving Kubo's art, but I dislike "time-limit"-based techniques in a genre that's all about dragging out and delaying shit. You've got a technique here that drains the moisture out of everything the longer its used, but these two are talking all casually and wasting time. Its the "five minutes until Namek explodes!" trope all over again, and I get that Manga are all about delays and people standing around and drawing things out, but it makes for terrible writing when you have a "countdown" move that winds up running for a long, long time because of the nature of manga itself.

Shit's boss, though. Yama has a seemingly-impregnable cloak of flames. He's like the Rubricante of Bleach.

Best time that song was used was when Ichigo and Renji tried to fight against Aizen imo. He's so strong he can stop theme songs. Still to this day my favorite anime scene regarding Aizen.
