Epic chapter was epic. Minato straight-up figured out Madara in such a short period of time and changed his strategy accordingly. The guys a genuine boss. Loved the cameo by some of the Jounins and seeing the 3rd back in battle-gear, this damn chapter was way too short.

Also, wasn't it noted in the Databooks or something that while the 1st was pretty damn strong, the second was recognized as the most skilled shinobi of his time?

The 3rd was the most knowledge able. He knew a metric shit-ton of jutsus.

Maybe most skilled of his time, I've never really looked into the databooks or anything, but he's considered the most talented water release user ever since he could do anything without a source of water.

Aside from that, great to see Minato in action. He has been a favourite character of mine for a long time just below Kakashi, as well as tobi, so its great to see them all together and being awesome

Shodaime had mokuton, though, which is supposed to be capable of controlling biju. Taking kyubi out of the equation as only he could probably tilted the odds in his favor significantly.

This is true, but it does not necessarily mean that Shodaime was stronger then Yondaime. Remember, he had the veeery big advantage (as far as ninja duals go) of already being intimately familiar with all of Madara's abilities, while the 4th had to figure out everything in the space of a few seconds during combat.

But isn't that part of his strength? His technique was of a level to control the Kyuubi. I mean technically that means the dude could have rolled with the Kyuubi to all his fights if he wanted. That's just as valid a use of his technique as Pain using six-bodies.
