Default Manaburning from a low level

Does mana-burning work from a low level? I know a lot of people have stated that they started at 51 (due to dark staff) but I have a few IRL friends and we all want to start manaburning from a low level all the way up. Is it viable at all or will MP be wasted too quickly for it to work?

If it makes it more viable, they are all starting fresh so at least 3 of the BLMs will be tarutaru.

I've seen our friendly neighborhood Gilsellers do it, you probably could too.

Especially low level on worms and goblin pets. Even more viable with a bard or rdm. If you do timed nukes --> sleep in an organized fashion in the static. It just seems pretty boring to go 1-75 in a manaburn.

the way BLM invites are these days post-50, its not a bad idea honestly.

I'm currently in the middle of soloing my BLM from 42 where I left it over a year ago and I'm now at 65, 95% of that solo. Just no invites in a TPburn world for a MP dependant job without cure IV.

also, killing BST pets helps, since they're relatively high level and have low HP. Just need to make sure you don't aggro the BST, or have a fast way out if you do.

Is there a good resource on places/levels to level up on BST pets?

    You get invites on blm? The only times I can get an invite is when 2 of us show up at same soloing camp, and its a {Team up?}

im pretty sure ppl start manaburning at 51 due to ice staff (or 50 for freeze).

the BST pets guides that exist all over the place (Wiki, KI, Alla, and here) are great resources for BLM soloing. However I will advise this:

The camps listed are certainly not the only options available at each level. A great example is a camp mentioned at the Cape Terrigan Outpost. I ended up finding a MUCH easier camp pull wise in Cape Terrigan on the way to the Cloister of Gales that served me much better than the Outpost camp. Or the one mentioned for Newton Movapolis in the 54-58 range that was always taken. Found another Goblin BST (not the Headmans used in the 64-69 range, the lower ones) farther in that did not afford me a good zone line, but was always free and pulls were sufficiently easy "enough".

Honestly I would reccomend to the OP to try duo-trio EXP until you get Ancient Magic (level 50, or maybe 51 so you have Freeze and your Ice/Aquilo's) and then solo until probably level 60, maybe farther. Then pick up the duo-trio mentality again later. The EXP in the 50-60 range was definitely on par with a very good EXP party in that range...I would average around 9-11k/hour in the old zones (read: no Sanction bonus).

Then I started working on non-BST pet mobs in ToAU- and duo wise in the 62-64 range I found respectable EXP on Qiqirn RNG mobs (7k/hour, not as good but livable if the better camps are taken).

True Manaburns are possible in the 50-60 range using more traditional camps (crabs in kuftal come to mind) if you have 5BLMs and a BRD or RDM/BRD- but they certainly aren't necesary, nor even always the best option for your BLM leveling.

I've leveled my second character's BLM from around 27 to 53 solo about 90% of the time on BST and SMN pets. (Shooting for 60 for certain CoP missions.) Honestly, I can't think of any better way of leveling BLM. Generally speaking you will get better XP solo on BST pets than in all but the best of the best XP parties. (Especially after 51 with Ancient Magic, Moldovite Earring, and Elemental Staves. Hurray one-shotting pets!)

I am lucky enough to a have RDM main that can be a cure tank, refresh machine, and a "holy crap sleepga time" panic button. But even without a PL you can still make loads of XP with /NIN and sleep. (Just don't forget the reraise items.)

I've been soloing in the Jungle and I always get invites. Then of course, I waste 2 hours, get 500 exp .I usually leave when the rdm/war's all die and i just go back to soloing for 5k exp an hour.

soloing blm is boring, but much faster than most pick up xp parties. LSmate has just soloed BLM from 21 to 50+ this way. In what seems like a a week or so.

oh soloing is definitely a great option don't get me wrong.

However there comes a point where you WILL Get better exp in a party than solo....and that part comes in the 60s. All I know is right now if I can get the newtown camp at level 65, I'm staring at constant chain #4s and its heaven, but a bad pull and I really get slowed down- 9k and hour is a great day, 7-8k is more realistic. If I have to go to the qiqirn camp in Aydeewa Subterranae, I'm looking at around 5-6k/hour solo, 7-8k duo if I can pair with a BLM from my LS whom I trust to pull the THF types as well.

Still good, but not the 10k or so that a solid TP burn even in the mid 60s can pull if they know what they're doing and have a great setup of well-geared players. Doesn't matter how well I'm geared, the limitations of MP and mob selections limit my exp/hour, not to mention fewer camps in general. The solo BLM camps support one BLM at max potential, or 2 sub-par BLMs, and the BST pet camps support one, end of story. And with the plethora of people reading such guides, competition can be fierce. Some nights I just do a quick /sea of the camps I can use, and realize I can't solo that night.

Its great, do it, you'll love it for the most part. But some days its just not in the cards.

I did one at lvl 23, we had a PL and it sucked pretty badly. Was super easy exp though.

Yeah, the trouble with that comparision being, who wants a BLM in a TP burn party?

Honestly I'm LvLing BLU solo lately and you're usually better off soloing. If it's people you know, or people you suspect are ok inviting you then party, but solo beats the hell out of most parties around 50-60.

And goblin pets are great, also you don't need to mana burn them, solo works plenty well.
