Ok, normally my PC freezes after 5 minutes, but when I put it up in safe mode now, it was fine. Is it safe to assume that formatting my PC will fix whatever's causing a crash?

Yes, unless it started freezing right after you installed some new hardware.
Is it just freezing and forcing you to manually reset, or restarting itself?
If it's the former, then it's very likely to just be windows fucked and yeah a reformat will be like a sexy release of glory juice.
Yeah, after about 5 mins it'd just come to a halt and then even the mouse would freeze. I thought it had something to do with the videocard overheating before, but I guess the videocard screwing up had something to do with this, not vice versa.Originally Posted by Shuemue
Possibly a vid card going bad...
I'd go ahead and back stuff up just in case. (doesn't hurt, saves you time in the long run >< )
When my computer starts to freeze I get it a blanket to keep it warm.. but thats just me.
Well I'm thinking it could have something to do with a driver going bad, considering when it was in safe mode it stayed up for well over 2 hours, which is 1h 55 mins longer than it normally stays.Originally Posted by Sigi
