Beyond using Hi-def 480 or 720 i think max, i have no idea.
If you're using a standard definition TV, than no.Originally Posted by gza
does that new xbox 360 limited edition hdmi thing make ffxi look prettier?
The only difference is the option of using a digital signal for 1080p content instead of VGA/Component (both Analog). Most people see no change in picture quality; someone with discerning eyes on a very high end setup might.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
Regardless, it's nothing you're going to notice. Save your money if you already own a 360.
to hell with game res I would rather be able to change the analog sticks around (someone please please tell me this is possible and I overlooked it)
You can only change FFXI's resolution to what the xbox's current max output is.
So if you have your's set for SDTV it'll look like your playing on a PS2 (but in reality, better, since PS2 looks worse). If you are playing on an HDTV, you have more options.
However, all of the progressive scan options on the 360 force widescreen. And if you do not have a screen thats greater than 36", trust me, you're going to hate it. The Font size on my 34" TV on the demo way back when was so small I had to sit closer to the TV than I do to my monitor.
If you have a large TV though, well, congratulations.
XBOX360 is an HQ Version of PS2's Display, if you can I suggest you use PC, why?Well, if you playon PC, so you can watch video while you play in widescreen through windows media player, like so of my friends do. For some reason my PC dies when I run media player & ff when its a DVD. whenever it's music i just shuffle it and it's np.
edit: removed picture, photobucket bandwith getting small >.<
thank you for the feedback.
i play pc, but have the xbox, but it looks like crap on the tv. tv is a vizio, not a bad tv. chat box takes up 1/2 screen.
i have this same problem gaza, ive just come to the conclusion that i cant fix it so i suck it up and play with boxes all over my screen. it sucks, but is better than not being able to play period :S
You can run your Ipod on the 360 and it will replace all the ingame music and keep the background noise/sounds.Originally Posted by Octavious
