Bored at work Thread

LOL. I don't think i'd ever want to go back to being a kid, I just wish I didn't have to work. Or, I wish I only had to work when I actually had crap to do, instead of trying to look busy and sitting here waiting for work to do.

I'm in the same boat here. I'm down to doing additional research for projects I have no involvement in.

Oh well, I'm probably heading home in an hour or two anyways. Thankfully this is a small company and they know that, if I'm low on work, I may as well just stay home or take a day off instead of just sitting in my office surfing forums. The only drawback is that I need to be on call basically 24/7 and until they get that Blackberry set up it means I'm chained to a computer with e-mail.

My day consist of waking up at 7:30 Am Walking to work ( I live on Site)
Next I'm in the office by 8:30 i Retrieve the mail get the rent checks out of the drop off box.
Day dream for a good hour or so before i start working on something .
Yell at my maint team cause their always slacking off. Make a few phone calls deal with some bills . By now its lunch time take an hour lunch come back to work and sit and stare at my desk and look at websites.
on some cases i might get some service calls but not many.

We're just using Windows Remote Desktop Connection. I'm using Logmein on this client right now to get to my home computer haha.

WOW WE SHOULD ALL GET A HUGE GAME OF DEFCON GOING. We could all play like a 6 hour game starting at like 9am and ending at like 3 haha.

My hubby is a UM grad, so i'm with UM by default. I'll root for State if the are playing someone else and it won't affect UM's big 10 standing. LOL.

A few years ago, while I was still at Uni, I did a 6 month co-op stint with the Government of Alberta. The department I was in had 5 other co-op students and we were generally very, very bored. (Very slow forest fire season so little financial processing work for us.) We started playing Risk by e-mail and could, on a slow day, get in about 4 or 5 games per day. We even developed a levelized ranking system for placement vs. number of games played; was pretty fun.
