I have many of those items They are really awesome.

There are a couple missing products but the list is great.

For example there is a FFXI Mouspad that was released.

Oh and the plush's are smaller than they look. But still cute.

Re: Final Fantasy XI: Products of Merchandising

My brother came back from Japan within the last 2 weeks or so, long story short he got the FFXI area masters guide version 070203. This 367-page guide is divided into sections such as: town guide, field/dungeon guide, hunting point guide (camps lol), and lastly a mission/quest guide. The bulk of the information is of course, detailed maps of almost every single zone in the game (I don't see any salvage maps). Since this is a 3rd Feb edition (I think its year/month/date, that's what 070203 means I guess) there are of course some obsolete data in it. For example, it still shows ulli as being lottery from Aura Statues.

Given that my mother tongue is Chinese and first language is English, I can't read 90% of the book, lol. Below are some pages of the book which I've scanned, forgive me for the huge resolution, rescaling them downwards will cut off a lot of details.

Look at the first thumbnail, it actually shows the locations of that impassable black smoke thingy. Still looking at the first thumbnail, at the top right, you see an area data box thingy with stuff like weather, how to get map for this area, any H.E.L.M activities, something, level required to get OP, garrison, and something. The bottom of the first thumbnail and the whole of the second thumbnail is actually a mini bestiary of Attohwa Chasm, and with each zone there will be miscellaneous information, which is given by thumbnail 3. Something interesting on thumbnail 3; they actually have a graphical representation of how to climb the mountain lol. The heading of each section says which side of the mountain you're climbing on.

This is another zone where I find that current maps are... lacking.

    http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/2...g005lw5.th.jpg http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9...g006xk0.th.jpg http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8...g008sx4.th.jpg

Paying attention to the area data box at the top right, you can see it's a little different, now saying something about treasure and coffer chests I think. It also lists the condition which you need to fulfill to enter this zone, given as COP M8-1 [Mission Name] right below the big, grand, Japanese name of the zone. Beside it is whether there's a level restriction I think. Both maps have all the missing wall blockades which are not shown on our in-game maps. Also, the last thumbnail shows you how to go about getting the map, which is quite stupid lol.

The book's basically like this for the field/dungeon guide part, other notable part of this section includes:
    1) Highlighting Ridill as a notable loot from Fafnir.
    2) The holes on the side of the cliffs where you ski down in Uleguerand Range.
    3) Path of NMs such as Shikigami Weapon, Guivre (lol), but strangely not Cactrot Rapido.
    4) Any available shortcuts or routes whenever applicable.
ie: a lot of tips and stuff that we already know from playing this game too much.

For the Hunting Point Guide, its basically a campsite guide; where to camp, what to kill, level range etc. They also include things like exp chain bonus and the amount of time you need to kill the mob in order to get it. Example: 60s to kill mob for chain6 and above. They also include the Imperial Standing bonus you get from the NPCs, it actually ranges from 0-8+ consecutive besieged wins I think. I'll just put it here so that I don't have to type so much, lol. Look at the food bonus for 8+ wins, 2.2x the normal duration.

Last but the very least, a mission/quest guide. Well, not really a guide, just very brief notes on where to go and what to do. There's no strategies on doing the BCs too. Includes all rank missions, RoZ, CoP, and up to M25 of ToAU. Quest data is similar, split up into towns and stuff, containing client, reward, title, quest requirements blah blah blah. Also has all the miscellaneous quests like NPC, helping the chocobo go home thing, beastman treasures, pirate charts, strange apparatus and something to do with Luck Rune I think.

In conclusion this guide is pretty solid, but because of the availability of information online and our of playing the game too long, there is very limited use in this guide book. Also, FFXI guidebooks get more obsolete as time passes, I'm telling my brother not to get me another one when he goes to Japan in the future >_> I originally asked him to help me get the chocobo, moogle and goblin plushies, but I didn't know they were already unavailable for purchase. He got me a chocobo cup though

    edit: sticking sig in

I also got my Vana Clock from Fry's(City of Industry, CA). The alarm on it is pretty decent and the timers are pretty dead on(except after conquest tallies it would need to be reset ). Some of the books you can find at your local Kinokuniya.

I was able to pick up that shirt at an anime con a few years ago ^^ They had the Yagudo Persecutor and the Beastmen Rule one too, but I didn't have the money

I've also got a FFXI doujin called Final Fantasy XI Fanbook. I'll scan the covers and a few inside pages to post up here if you'd like. Also just bought one of the anthologies and another doujin which I'll scan too once I get em~

I didn't see this mentioned, but I browsing a used bookstore near where I live in Japan. I was able to pick up one of the XI guides published by digicube.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...venewworld.jpg

It contains very basic game information as well as explainations given to new players via short mangas of varying style.

The shirts just posted reminded me to take some pics of the shirts I got from Fanfest last year. Also, the messenger bag and the hat. :D
