Default Where Does this tunnel lead?

I was wandering around KRT's and noticed a tunnel behind a wall, unreachable, and having no outlet. Anywhere, Heres a PIcture.

It leads to nowhere, as you can see, but its directly connected to the corner at H-6.

Has this been answered before :X Kinda hard to search for it.

    Just struck me as odd

There are quite a few places leading to nowhere. So when the devs decide they need a new zone connected to somewhere, there's already connectors in place in the current zone which just need to be opened up. This way they don't have to redesign existing zones, just because they need a new connection to a new zone.

*points out the Rolan fields "cave", one in Ronf [S], a couple in Grau, hordes of unreachable spots in AU areas, plus the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG tunnels behind the zonelines in Windy Walls which you can actually run all the way back along until the ground goes away and you just can't get "traction" anymore*

    Lol yar, I guess.

I knew DEVs added random outting incase they needed to add more zones and stuff, but most of them, like the rolanberry caves, the caves in Konchstat Highlands, etc... but they're usually visable, these are hidden behind walls like Cermet Apparatus things. Eh, I guess its just outlets incase they need them in the future. im willing to bet this is where Jugner and Ronfaure USED To be, You cant tell by the screenshot, but ones facing the same direction as Jugner zone, and the other is facing the same Direction as the Ronfaure Zone (The ones currently on KRT Map)

Interesting stuff though, But anyone with the map viewing thing i see could have found em ;x

The best explaination is thoe caves in jugner. Before the CoP expansion, they already exist at there, but usually you will meet a dead end when you walk into those caves and also you will see one or two tiger were guarding there. But during the CoP, they just "open" the dead end to connect it to other zones.

    Yah, True.
Im still thinking during beta or maybe something else these used to lead to Jugner/Ronfaure, But they eventually Opened it up giving another Uptop Area in KRT and expanding a bit on it. Huh, Funny stuff though huh?

But as you said too, most of these Dead end zones are Visible in plain sight, you can walk to them and get hit with a dead end, these were unskillfully hidden Interesting find and nothign special about them i suppose. ;x

Easy answer, lazy map designers, instead of trying to make the corners flush they take previous sections of a map and just let them overlap so they have less work to do.

It is one of many off map artifacts.

    There's another one.

Fall in the water in Windy Walls some time, if you don't already know how, go over to the Auction house, go up to the first stair from the top, on PS2 I put the camera in third person, zoomed out a little bit, and looking towards the windy walls zone sort of, in that little nook right back there.

Now rub against the wall until you find the spot where it grabs you, usually the way you're facing affects how it grabs at you, and things like autorun screw it up. Run into that spot, change the camera angle and the way you're running from time to time to find the right way, helps to turn away and back into it sometimes.

Sooner or later you'll pop up on top and over the wall, now drop down into the water, run towards the bridge on the way to the mog house, just to the left of the bridge there are some tree roots, you should be able to find where you can climb up the wall right there easily.

Now run back towards the Windy Walls zone up there, along the background wall, when you get to the covered tunnel, make sure you pick a spot where it isn't too close to the hillside, and drop down/walk through the covering, and you're now behind the zoneline.

You can zone to Walls or Waters from back there behind them, I'll dig around later for an SS if I can.

    :D

Parts of some zones seem to be copied and pasted from others...maybe some of these tunnels are remains of the copy/pastes too ?

There are several basic building block looking sections which the zones seem to be made up of, it's really clear when you're doing stuff like in my post up there.

You'll run into the same certain building blocks layered in a fill this space manner around the edges of most zones I would assume, I have in the zones I've managed to get off map on.

The most baffling stuff to me is the random bits where there is a lot of impossible to see terrain, and then randomly exposed bits where it's just cut off. Like that entire bit behind Selbina in my first picture, that isn't the Visible behind the zoneline bit from Selbina, it's past it entirely.

Creepiest looking one is falling under the planks in Newton. It goes really far down. I'll see if I can find a pic when I get home.

How about the roped off areas in Bastok Mines? Or the one in Kazham?

How about the pirate ship dock in Norg?

    OPEN THOSE UP!

    yeah that creeped me out

also got 'stuck' on the other side of what should have been the zone into rabao, I was 'on the outside looking in' so to speak, I think it was due to me dismounting my choco too fast doing the usual 'Perfect Dismount' before zoning, and I seem to remember runnin gout onto where there was no real floor per se, was weird

lastly, there's still that damned galka in norg that won't let you in that tunnel behind him, I know they're saving that for something or other but I kinda thought they'd utilize it on this one, especially with all the ferries (ok all two of them) to and from whitegate
