Last year was easily one of the most exciting seasons of football to date. Hard to say I'll see anything like that within my lifetime again. This year is going to be extremely interesting coming off what happened last year and some of the stuff thats developed off the off season. Hopefully my boys in blue do better this year. Go Colts!

I really really really want the colts to do well. I'd like to see another Colts/Patriots AFC championship. I just feel the chargers have had it coming a while and have a fuckton of talent.

Stealing your layout because I'm lazy.

    NFC East: Dallas
NFC North: Minnesota - I still want to see Favre go here for some reason. Him with Adrian Peterson in the backfield? Yes please.
NFC South: New Orleans - Shockey addition will help more than hinder, and he gets along with the Sean Patyon, so that'll help.
    NFC West: Seattle
Wild Cards: Washington and Tampa Bay

AFC East: New England - Need I say anything?
    AFC North: Pittsburgh
    AFC South: Indianapolis
    AFC West: San Diego
    Wild Cards: Jacksonville and Denver

Brett Favre will be wearing a....Tampa Bay jersey.

    RoTY - Darren McFadden

    MVP: Adrian Peterson

    Best Record: New England

Not picking the Super Bowl yet. D:

Our AFC is pretty much the same.

Rookie of the year: Vernon Gholston

    MVP: Peyton Manning

Akiyama, don't be a bitch and at least not have a superbowl pick in the pre-season.

And Arizona will be good godammit. I'm going to continue to ride their bandwagon like I have the past few years until they fucking win and I exclaim "I WAS FUCKING RIGHT!"

Also, kinda torn on the rookie of the year. I think if Rashard mendenhall gets some PT, he'll win it. I'm calling Adrian Peterson to be a bust this year. I'll add in the biggest bust of the year where we pick the person who lays the biggest egg proportionate to their expectations.

    Does not compute.

How is Minnesota taking the north if a) Peterson doesn't dominate and b) they don't get Favre and Favre is possibly starting for GB.

    I don't understand.

Green Bay's schedule. Go look at it. It's fucking brutal. Viking's schedule is tough too, but they just have to be better than green bay, which I think they can be. Minnesota is still good without Peterson. I think he'll be effective, but I don't think he's going for 1500 yards this season. I'll honestly be shocked if he starts 16 games.

Eh, yeah I guess. Dallas/Seattle/Indy/Jacksonville/Tennessee isn't very fun...

I just think it's hard to be the "biggest bust in the NFL" for a season if you rush for 1000+ yards.

Still does not compute. Would you consider Peterson a bust last year when he only ran for around 1100? If he does that again, it won't be a bust, right? It'll still be pretty good with a two back system and all. That and Minnesota sucks otherwise. Tavares (sp? Tavaras? Too lazy to look up) Jackson sure as hell won't lead them to the promised land without a good running game.

Also, if you want a Super Bowl pick, then fine.

    Colts vs Cowboys

He'll probably be the 2nd person drafted in fantasy leagues, and I don't think he'll be in the top 5 RBs this year stat wise...how bout that, maybe not a bust, but nothing even close to expectations. I really don't know who'll win that division, but I know the 2nd place team isn't going to the playoffs. A .500 record will probably win that division.

Probably yeah. Favre says he's going to training camp Sunday, and word on the street is the Jets have permission to talk to him. What will that do to the AFC East if that happens? I still think the Jets would be shitty and wouldn't win the division, but would make for some interesting Patriots/Jets games. Hell, I'd give the Lions more of a chance than the Vikings if they don't have a good year by AD.

My prediction is Mcnabb stays healthy this year and shuts up some of the critics. Please?

    EAGLES!

But even so, Dallas is winning the NFC east.

    NFC East: Dallas
NFC North: Green Bay, unless Minnesota gets Favre.
    NFC South: New Orleans
    NFC West: Seattle
Wild Cards: Philadelphia and Tampa Bay (or Green Bay if they dont win the north)

    AFC East: New England
    AFC North: Pittsburgh
    AFC South: Indianapolis
    AFC West: San Diego
    Wild Cards: Cleveland and Denver.

Brett Favre will be... throwing more INTs than TDs.

Rookie of the year: Run DMC

MVP: Even though Manning or Brady will probably win in my opinion, picking them is not exciting. How about some Ben Roethlesberger (sp) action? I would pick LT (not really a shocking candidate either) but havent heard much about him since the injury.

    Best Record: New England

    Super Bowl: Not picking, but...

Superbowl Champ: Philadelphia, because I am a sucker for punishment, and will probably start drinking heavily by week 9.

Edit: Adding 2 new categories since it happens every year:

Team that fails to live up to last year: NY Giants. Post-Super Bowl woes, every team will be gunning for them etc.

Team that comes out of nowhere: St. Louis. Weak division, if they stay injury free they can compete with the Seahawks.

Edit2: That NFL "migration" commercial just came on. Easily one of the best football commercials. Gets me so damned pumped for football season.

Cincinnati's going to win the North this year.

Philadelphia is absolutely making the playoffs this year. They should have made it last year. If they bring a punt returner to Green Bay, they beat the Packers week 1. If they stop that last pass in Philadelphia, they beat Chicago. At 10-6 they make the playoffs. Instead they came in last in their division and were better than their 8-8 record would suggest. They go into this season with McNabb focusing on playing rather than rehab, a stronger offense, a stronger defense.

Cleveland is also going to end their playoff drought behind a sickening offense (as long as they don't do anything stupid like bench Derek Anderson for Brady Quinn). Jurevicious, Edwards, Stallworth, Josh Cribbs, Kellen Winslow. Shit, if my Eagles had half as much talent we'd be a dynasty.

Last year when I started working at NFL Films they made me pick who would win the super bowl. I came close picking the Patriots.

    Dallas wins the east.
    Seattle wins the west.
    Vikings win the north.
    Tampa Bay wins the south.
Philadelphia and Green Bay wild card.

    Patriots in the east.
    Chargers in the west.
    Steelers in the north.
    Colts in the south.
Browns and Jaguars make the wild card.

    No clue after that. :D

Not like it's hard to figure out that the Pats are going to be good year after year. I may hate Bellichick and co. but they do a damn fine job of putting a team together. They've been the most successful team since the start of this decade. Now if you had picked that they would have gone 18-1 and been as dominant as they were then I would have been impressed.

That's the thing with the NFL there are always 2-3 teams that are good for long stretches, and this decade it the Pats and the Colts. But the nice thing is that you always seem to have surprise teams too. Take Green Bay last year, you knew that they would be decent, but did anyone really expect them to be as good as they turned out to be, or did anyone think that the Giants would be able to pull together at the right time to win everything. It's that kind of unpredictability that I love about the NFL.
